Your best bet is to comb the Audi forums for builds to copy. Otherwise it's a bunch of trial and error while you prove out the combinations of parts and permanent modifications.

IMO, everyone who keeps a B6/7 S4 Avant on the road is doing a service to humanity. I'm just not sure this will count anymore haha.

I think doing it on a car that isn't going to be rare and sought after one day is the right call. I know the S4 will never be as rare and cool as the B7 RS4 which is surely going to be a classic for decades to come, but a manual avant S4 in North America is only a small step down.

There's also the point that in 2 years, we'll have reached the 15 year limit on importing non-Canadian market vehicles and I can just have a B7 RS4 avant shipped to me. Which I fully intend on doing.

If you're taking away essentially half of an S4 avant from the system only to replace it with one full RS4 avant, the continent is better off for it. I say go wild, you crazy man!

Also, in for the group buy on RS4 avants.

I've been keeping a close eye on the german equivalents of autotrader and the like for 3 years now, just seeing what prices do, so if you actually do want to get one they can ship ours over together.

My preference is for the White Edition, followed by a sprint blue one, after which I'm pretty agnostic. It has to have the bucket seats. Everything else is negotiable.

Yes, that one's by far the most expensive one I've seen. I assume they've priced it that way because of the low mileage. Nice examples with under 100,000km are priced at half of that generally.

If you are exporting would you be exempt from the VAT? it's usually included in the price and it's a healthy 19%.

Water Pump, T-stat and Coolant flush replace etc...

$ 709.00 tx incl

A little more that I was expecting but its done now.

Hopefully I get another 100K out of this one.

Yup, but in my head I'm leaving it in and assuming transportation and other fees to get it into my garage will ultimately end up costing that much anyway.

I wonder if this is the start of my truck dying on me...

All the coolant being sprayed around by the leaking bearing on the water pump has apparently contaminated the bearings on my alternator which is screaming like a banshee now while running...

Any recommendations of getting this resolved ?

I can remove the alternator myself if I need to drop it somewhere...

Thanks.

I've been watching them on AutoScout for a few years. They haven't been decreasing in price much. I think a decent edition to your garage, could be had for ~$30CAD.

I've been wanting to do some suspension upgrades for my '99 Miata which was 100% stock when I bought it. My current wheels are OEM 14" with 185/60/R14 BFG Sport-S all-season radials.

These are up for sale on Craigslist: https://vancouver.craigslist.org/bnc...228255617.html

The wheels would look awesome with the twilight blue paint and the tires are highly regarded. Is this a good price? Do I need to worry about the slight circumference increase? Would I be stupid not to jump on this?

Is that worth doing, vs just buying a rebuilt one, and getting a refund on yours? I think you can just take it to NAPA and do that. I think it would be in the $100-$200 range.

I'd personally order one from RockAuto, or if time sensitive, buy a reman from NAPA or Auto Value.

Guys shop is on Ogden rd across from the ADM building.

You’ll get a superior end product from him than a reman, and you support a local independent business vs a Chinese ‘rebuild’. Even if you buy new, even top shelf products are now made overseas. You might save some money from RockAuto, but it’s worth having your OEM product serviced locally.

Hah, honestly, that was a pretty fun project. Maybe I should get him to weigh in. The people I've talked to so far aren't confident that it would work, there's just nothing anyone offers for the car that would do the job, suspension-wise.
