Yeah, even if there's more than one offer, the Oilers will still have to be the highest bidder.

They do have a casino right in the arena. Big selling point.

"Put the whole contract on Black!"
- Red. You know you still have to play out the contract right?
"Do I though...? Do I?"

He will be there after games, still in his uniforms and skates.

Kane is a very good hockey player.
Edmonton adding Kane makes them a better team.
Say what you will about his character, but Kane is going to be very motivated to earn another big contract - so I imagine we’ll see a very good Kane on the ice, and I imagine he’ll be on his best behaviour off the ice.

Because there's nothing to do in Edmonton?

This...or he's gone too far down the slippery slope that he full on Antonio Brown's this.
Honestly it could go either way.

That’s why I want the flames to sign him for rest of year. Think he can be alright off the ice and locker room for a short period . I would not want to sign him for more than a 1 year contract .

Usually these work out for a little while.
Don't like it unless he signs 7x7

I don't like it, McDavid and Drai are going to play like pricks now knowing that Kane is willing to muck it up. On top of all that, Kane is still a great player.
Especially a 1 year deal, this is another miss by our GM.

What? Sorry, but I disagree with you on almost every point.
Kane was a very good hockey player, but now as a Pro-Athlete he is on the wrong side of 30.
Furthermore this is someone who has effectively found creative methods of destroying every opportunity he's ever gotten. But this one will be the magic one?
And you're taking that locker room and lobbing a grenade into it? What leads anyone to believe that this addition will be beneficial or at least wont do any harm contrary to all evidence?
Let alone be beneficial?
Even at its most basic, boiled down to its core, its a giant glowing neon sign that shows Oiler players that they have so little faith in them that they're going to go out and sign Evander Kane. A player literally nobody else wants.
But the Oilers' answers are 'In the Room.'

Assuming Kane would actually want to sign in Calgary over Edmonton.
Let's see... Contract year playing on the only team in the West that actually gets any coverage.
Not hard to think he'd sign in Edmonton.

Don’t want us to get him but also don’t want Edmonton to get him
He’s a good player and goes beast mode against us all the time. So this sucks if it is true

Everyone said he’d be motivated and on his best behaviour in SJ, and that they had the vets to rein him in. Look back at the posts on CP when he was traded there and re-signed.

Does anyone know what happens if Kane signs with a team and then his contract termination with SJ is overturned?

NHL network radio was suggesting that he wouldn't be allowed to sign a deal until the arbitrator ruled.
