I like the "locked for the season" aspect. I helped a lot of GMs out last season when they couldn't submit lines for a time and I was somewhat surprised at how many single position players they had. I know in many cases, had they done the research at the beginning of the season, many of those forwards would have been eligible at multiple positions.

I also like that it makes you target certain positions in trades. We can all fill a team full of centers. It takes a little more time to make trades that fill the voids at all 3 forward positions. I don't know, I enjoy that part of it personally.

I should clarify so I am stating my opinion with as little bias as possible. ..I found links to move my guys to the wing so I am fine with either.

I just think more freedom and less bureaucracy makes the game more fun.

You still have flexibility. You submit your list and I add those positions directly in the sim to all the players. So they can play multiple positions, including in a game. You can have a guy centre PP and play RW even strength, if they have both positions.

Prior to that change, any player could only play one position at a time.

So you actually have MORE flexibility.

It's on GMs to submit all the available positions at the beginning of the year. So it just requires people to do that work before the season starts, to maximize their flexibility.

Those that don't have less flexibility in how they deploy players and their ability to trade them.

Ohhhhh...OK I was unaware of that.

I agree, that is different and better since last time!!

Thanks for the clarity.

In addition to the added flexibility of forwards that can play multiple positions, I like the aspect that those players that are capable of playing multiple forward spots as being more valuable than those that can only play a single position.

A guy like Kahun that can play all three forward positions is much more valuable to provide suitable depth for a team than a player that is 1-2 more in OV, but cannot be slotted into different forward positions.

Habs are young and are likely gonna get exposed defensively because of that. Hopefully the goalies can bail us out and er can find a way to score.

Sharks finally made a couple deals that saw subtraction from the back end (OEL and Zadorov) and additions up front (Voracek). Managed to add a decent top 4 D as well in McCabe.

Voracek - RNH- Reinhart
Duclair - Jankowski - Parise
Dal Colle - Howden - Iafalo

Letang - Trouba
Mccabe - ???
Jensen - Poolman

Rask

Change the goaltending duo to Raanta and Demko, and add Ericcson though I might just waive him.

Pending league approval
