We assign CPHL teams to the corresponding NHL team in the standings and use the results from their draft to determine ours.

Bump. Just want to post a friendly reminder for some GMs-

The following are considered mandatory duties for all GMs, which failure to complete could result in termination:

– Sending in lines for ALL of your games. No exceptions.
– Maintaining your CPHL/AHL roster according to salary cap and roster restriction rules
– Responding to any inquiry from a fellow GM or the league within 24 hours
– Checking the CPHL forum on calgarypuck DAILY
– Active participation on the league forum*

I'm a bit confused by this. If I understand this correctly, if someone re-rates higher than the cut off, is already in the AHL and is 24 or above, he can stay down?

Also does re-signing such a player play into this as a factor?

Yes

This is only a rule to prevent a team like me to send Debrincat to the minors an hour before free agency to have an extra 7 million. Buy a 7 million player, call up Debrincat and trade that 7 million player for assets. Teams that had these 23 and younger superstars were hiding them in the minors and buying all the free agents.

A player that was previously waived and no one claimed him now gets a favourable rating, is a rare thing. Compared to every team having 23 and under players they could send freely down to the minors to have extra spending money

This is only a rule to prevent teams from exploiting being able to send 23 and under to the minors and free up cap without waiving them

So do players above the waiver cut off never have to get called up? He can stay down there and never be brought up even if he is 70+ ov?

Technically Yes. But doesn't make a lot of sense to do that.

As an example, I have Zegras who is a 70 OVR. I have to bring him up because he is 20.

I have Ross Colton who is a 68 OVR and is 24. I'll keep him in the AHL for now just in case I get a similar guy at a similar price in Free Agency. But chances of that start to get slim. And as soon as there's an injury, I'd be calling him up and then having to waive him to send him back down...and he would not likely clear.

Are sign and trades for UFAs allowed? I vaguely remember there was a big discussion/issue with it last year, when I had put up my UFAs on the trade block, so just curious

Pending UFAs cannot be traded.
If a team signs a UFA and then trades them - that's up to them. Once a UFA is re-signed there are no restrictions to them being dealt.

But any trade sent to the league that involves a pending UFA (pre-signing) will be rejected.

Can’t do this anyways, UFAs are not on roster page until signed.

True but they could be included as conditions.
So what I'm saying is don't do that.

Not sure what happened on the Team Pages. My Cap somehow went down to 70M instead of what it was 74 or 75 something. Just wanted to mention it

Sometimes the cap seems to go wonky temporarily. Check it again in the morning and I bet its correct.

Once we get through bringing back our own free agents, UFAs will be available in batches, a handful of players from each position. GMs have ~ a week to submit offers, without really knowing what others are or have offered. Typically we have 3-4 batches.

Players are awarded to the team that makes the highest offer as calculated by term*dollars*ahl percent
Teams must have cap space for all offers they make

I've got a question about re-rates each off season.

What is a really big drop or a really big gain for a player to go from one season to the next?

So for forwards/dmen/goalies if your player has a breakout season what would typically be the biggest jump you see? Like a guy like Fox, he must have had crazy jumps the past two seasons.

And what would be the biggest drops for each position roughly?
