I see way more Seniors Loitering at coffee shops than I do Teens. Teens get bored and tend to move on. Seniors will sit there nursing one coffee for hours telling the same story to their friends they told last week.
Check out Tim Horton's at 8 am. Its filled with loitering seniors who bought a small coffee.

My friends and I were almost banned from Foody Goody on Macleod Trail because we ate too much food. The owner lady only allowed us back because I was Asian.

Very true and a place to sit should be afforded to all the customer. The issue becomes that some customers overstay or monopolize (loiter) the limited capacity that establishments have available which drives business away potentially.
JK Rowling was notorious for this sort of egregious malfeasance.
Mine basically takes the bus downtown and goes for sushi or ramen with his friends in Kensington or 17th Ave. I think they just need to get away from their familiar neighbourhood and explore somewhere new with friends.
My son and his friends do the same over here. I love that they do that.
Funny enough, the owner of Weeds used to get mad when we would "loiter" in there too long. And only allow a certain amount of teens in. The corner store across the street was way more strict though.
This is just making me think about Jimmy's A & A though.
Following the theme of where this thread left off, Village Square Mall banned the kids from the high school next door from entering the premises during the day
"Anticafes" have been around a while in certain cities where you pay for time spent and the drinks and snacks are free. I remember going to one in Paris when I had some work to do and thought it was great.
