Can I get a freaking metaphor? Anywhere? Please? Seriously, this is the kid of thing I would expect to hear a 9th grader read at an 'end racism' school assembly.

Good idea, brutal, brutal execution. Blech... guh.. *spit* the taste... it's still in my mouth... ecch...

Yeah, that's exactly what I thought. I read the title and thought "That's a pretty cool idea, I bet people are just looking to be offended". Then I listened to it and thought 'two ######ed grade 7 students could have come up with better lyrics".

Could have been good, just terrible, lame execution.

My favorite Country Rap song.....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3htOCjafTc

How did it get to 25 Million views though

Also anyone who doesn't like this song is missing out on all that Country Rap has to offer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3Q-xMTbzGg Not great but pretty good imo.

Its pretty strange that 2 very successful and very respected artists are responsible for such a lame attempt at something profound.

Yes, because the best way to judge something's quality is by its popularity.

Unless your point was that country music is not the worst music genre in America, but the second worst?

Profound lol.

Agree with the comments that this seems like a pretty juvenile attempt at tackling a huge issue.

Another point though about the Confederate flag as a symbol that was raised in the song. I can't believe it's taken like 50 years (and apparently according to this latest effort still longer) for white southerners to get it through their thick skulls that the Confederate flag represents nothing positive and you're a total d-bag for wearing merchandise with that flag on it. Wearing it around today but being apololigetic about it is like a German wearing around swastikas and saying 'I know we've done some bad things in the past and there's some blame to go around but, hey this is part of my heritage and I'm still a proud German!'

"New Country" is the most cynically made garbage on earth, and an insult to authentic country music.

Most of it is written by a handful of session musicians in Nashville, for pop stars with fake twangs.

I'm more disappointed by the fact that this is what Brad Paisley is going to remembered in the mainstream for, rather than that he is one of the few mainstream country guitarists with real chops.

I've actually heard that Paisly was a great guitar player, learned a section of one of his instumentals a few months back. He's a great player for sure but then I heard the "Check You For Ticks" song recently. He's a buffoon.

THANK YOU!!!

Easily one of my biggest pet peeves.

I've also seen Canadians, not transplanted ones, running the 'Don't mess with Texas' bumper stickers/accessories.

Really? REALLY?!

I have a picture of a bunch of 2 Commando guys sitting in front of it with I think it's Barbara McDougall (but can't recall).

You must have missed the Lou Reed / Metallica album. Accidental Racist is a musical masterpiece compared to that garbage.
