In a non Olympic and non Commonwealth Games year, there's almost nothing that's likely to top this on the women's calendar.

Well done Bianca!! I have a feeling that TSN and Sports Net will scramble to get the Miami open.

It's going to be tough for the men's final to top this match we just watched.

Way to dig yourself out of that. I thought that break may have been the end of her.

Down a break, broken with match points, doesn't matter. That certainly was a star making performance.

That's the kind of match that can show she's for real, and will be a force for years to come. That's no easy feat she pulled off, against the competition she's had to do it against.

Where does this moment rank in Canadian singles tennis history?
We have Genie and Milo's making a Wimbledon final, Shapo beating Nadal in Toronto, Vasek beating world #1 Andy Murray and Nestor beating world #1 Edberg, is there another missing?

Obviously number one, it's the biggest title a Canadian has won and she did so leaving no doubt. Women's tennis as it is she's gonna have a good chance at winning a major this year.

Thiem is hitting ridiculously well, surprised Roger is still in this.

Good on Thiem, Roger had no answers in the final set. I imagine Roger skips Miami too with basically no points to defend.
