Default Meika Jordan

Don't know if anyone has been following this story but Spencer Jordan and Marie Magoon have just been found guilty of second degree murder.

I'm not sure that any sentence will feel like enough in this case.

They're the ones that basically tortured that little girl to death right. I remember reading that story and having a strong sense of revulsion over the crime.

Both of them are scumbags. the excuse that they were fighting over finances and took it out on a little girl is irrelevant. They basically burned, beat and destroyed the little girl, and put the biological mother and stepfather through hell.

No sentence will ever be good enough. But personally, I'm of the mind that violence against children whether physical or sexual in nature is the worst crime there is.

Throw the book at em, give em each life.

Jordan's lawyer is whining that his client has been beaten in remand because of the publicity over his murder of his daughter.

honestly though (and I can't believe I'm saying this). the legal system has to protect their prisoners from harm better. As much as its everyone's fantasy to see these scumbags burn or get beaten daily, I really like the idea of the system keeping them protected and healthy so that they can serve their sentence to the maximum.

The minute that we start condoning things like vigilantism in prisons, is the minute that we lose our way.

But I get where you're coming from Minnie.

The rational part of me agrees with you - make sure they live to serve their sentence.

The irrational side of me, the part of me that lived a little of what this child endured, couldn't be arsed to give 3 flying purple fecks if someone beats him senseless on the daily.

Considering he was at least partially responsible for beating this young girl to death, I can't help but feel glad he is getting tuned in prison.

They will get what is coming to them in spy hill. Prisoners do not stand for kid killers and will do anything to get to them. There will always be guards willing to take that extra 5 minutes to respond too.

When my aunt was murdered by her husband, her brother beat the living crap out of him right out front of the courthouse. The police responded... eventually. He was charged with assault, of course, because the law is still the law, but the judge in that case gave him the lightest sentence available. The Judge even said he was giving that sentence only because he couldn't give anything lighter.

It is in society's interest to outlaw vigilantism, but at the same time, society has long been willing to turn a blind eye in the right situation. Child torturers are the right situation. I won't ever shed a tear for these two, even if their prison life ends up like a storyline out of Oz.

It's one of the worst stories I've ever heard. I wish I believed in hell so they could rot in it for eternity. Andit all started because they burned Meika's hand(on purpose) and didn't want her to go back to her mother, for fear the mother would see the injury. Just makes me sick to my stomach for that poor little girl and her family.

When reading the details of the case online awhile back I actually had to turn my head away from the screen in revulsion. Then reading the the judge's comments outlining his findings on Twitter today I had to stop. I was sick to my stomach. As the father of a 2 1/2 year old daughter, I don't have the words to express my disgust with these two.

It goes without saying that they should never taste freedom for the rest of their natural lives. And I hope the sights and sounds of what they did haunt them every day they continue to take up space on this earth.

I don't even know how to reply to something like this. I'm so angry reading about what happened.

I can't even bring myself to read any details about what happened. I'm glad this thread was posted so I could get the gist without the in depth details because as a father of two little girls who are always so happy, caring and thoughtful, I can't bare to hear how anyone can take that away from a child. They are so innocent and it sickens me to think there are people out there like this.

This is one case where I think the death penalty is okay, but daily beatings will have to do. I personally don't agree that child offenders should be segregated in prison. Let anyone who's willing to destroy a child's life suffer the consequences.
