Tons of police everywhere. Didn’t see any smashed up cars. Hearing rumours it was a pedestrian in the tunnel.

it's quite a thing in our office, we're all gawking out the window.
edit: rumour is .. was it was a suicide attempt

Generally on my back, sometimes on my sides.

Something is up at Heritage LRT. I was on my way to band practice when the train was stopped at Anderson for what seemed like an eternity before an announcement was made that there had been an accident at Heritage and that shuttle buses would be taking people from Southland to Chinook and then 39th Avenue. Then I waited for another eternity for the shuttle buses to show up, then gave up on waiting and took the train back home.
Anyone know what's up?

Beginning to wonder where we rank in terms of fatalities per km of LRT, per capita among cities with significant at-grade LRT, etc. There must be some statistic that's reasonable in terms of comparison and we're probably not doing well in whatever category that is.

Southbound Ctrain is stuck at 4th ave coming from the NW. Looks like a car ran a light, got tagged by the train. Driver of the car checked for damage and left the scene. Train hasn't moved for about 5 minutes now.
Train is in the intersection of 4th ave and 9th street. The far left lane is squeezing through.

They should rename the trains as The Darwin Machines

Calgarians should organize a lynch mob to fight back against this Government-sanctioned menace thats allowed to parade heedlessly through the peaceful streets of our fair City!
We dont have to live alongside these Godless killing machines!

I wouldn't talk about all pedestrians like that.

Looks like an incident has occurred somewhere on the west end of 7th ave. Heads up for your commute.

7th is shut down, catch the train at City Hall station if you’re going to Saddletown (old library side) or Somerset (city hall side). Will probably be shut down for hours by the sound of what happened

Walked to Kerby and got out of downtown.
Not often you see throngs of people walking in one direction.
No chance waiting for a shuttle.

Waiting for a shuttle or getting on a shuttle is a recipe for not getting anywhere. Almost every time I try to use the shuttle instead of walking to the next open stop, I regret it. It’s like when you are driving and think that maybe Crowchild will be faster. It never is. It never is.
