Sanders took a brand that essentially laid dormant for a decade and has orchestrated a stunning revival of relevancy, pushing the Buffaloes into the rare space of being relevant both in sports and pop culture. Colorado went from 1-11 to hosting Lil Wayne pregame.
Colorado is white hot, so much so that more people watched Colorado and Colorado State (9.3 million) -- two teams that went a combined 4-20 last year -- than watched iconic brands Alabama and Texas (8.8 million) the week before. What makes that more astounding is the Colorado game started after 10 p.m. ET, ended around last call and smashed ESPN's record for the most-watched late-night game of all time by more than 4 million viewers.
It's early days and the post game presser will get more clicks then the game itself. Colorado likely to also lose to USC next week.
But come November no matter how Colorado does, they're going to get numerous decent profile bowl invitations as well.
Like him or not this situation and attention and pure cash it brings in , sets up Colorado as an athletic program (not just football) for a few years now at least, if not longer.

As long as they get to at least 6 wins....which is not a sure thing but very likely.
They have an ugly schedule against some good offenses....and they just gave up 400 yds in one half.
3 wins is already amazing considering last year’s CU squad may have been the worst power 5 team ever fielded. USC is going to see this and know they gotta put up 70 on CU to keep pace with Oregon.
CU just doesn’t have the horses to compete with legitimate squads and that’s ok. Coach Prime had to suspect this was coming, you didn’t hear a single word from him or the team this entire week. Clawing to get past a garbage CSU squad may have opened some eyes in the building to what they really have
Dont ever recall seeing anything quite like that before.
That happens in college. For some reason they deduct a sack from rushing yards. In the pros it counts against passing so not unusual at all for college QB to have negative rushing.
Interested to see how that team rebounds, it really has been fun to watch.
