Shame that Mike Weir lost his game. That was an exciting Masters and he was so clutch on the back nine.
I think I read that he has some alright results and I'm thinking for him the plan is get it together for the Champions Tour. He only has a couple of years or so till he is eligible. So the hope for a comeback is still there.

The field is actually very decent, but yes it will feel just a little blah after the Masters. The worst position on the schedule though is still the Canadian Open. Thank god RBC sponsors some high profile golfers.

Shes only 20...

BobWeeksTSN:
Sixth career win for @BrookeHenderson and just the second Canadian golfer to win in 4 consecutive seasons, joining Sandra Post. She's now 2 behind Post/Weir/Knudson in career wins by a Canadian golfer.

That was a tough stretch of poor fields there, but finally this week there was some star power and a fun watch.

Oddly enough the stars mostly provided prestige as they all seemed a little cold as they warmed up for the players. Great tournament from Jason Day to win, but that was pretty cool seeing the 21 year old Aaron Wise play so cool under pressure.

He's got nerves of steel with a chance to win and a huge gallery, I'm sure we'll be hearing more from him.

Just a question though: Why do golfers take such long breaks? I'm no pro but I feel I'd want to be out there at least every second week trying to stay in the groove of things.

So many seem to come back cold from the 3 week breaks. Look at today, it was a strong field because it's a warm up for the Players Championship, yet most of the big guys don't actually looked that warmed up yet with lots of bugs in their game.

Can they flip a switch in a big tournament, is that the idea?

Quite the interesting match up today at the Players.

Woods, Mickelson and Fowler will probably have more than half the on-board fans following them. Golf needs Tiger and Phil to play well this season and renew their intense rivalry, stiffs like Spieth or McIlroy just can't carry the game.

I don't know that the top players really consider the Players a big deal. They all play it, but I think most will play the week before as building up for the US open, and will play the Players, Byron Nelson and Memorial leading up to it.

I think most of the top guys try to schedule some tournaments leading up to the Masters. Take a break and then gear up for the Players/US Open. Take a break and then they end up playing a lot of golf from mid July to end of September with the Open Championship, PGA championship, WGC, the Playoffs, and the Ryder Cup. If they play all those, they play 8 tournaments in 10 weeks.

Phil is playing decent golf, but I got to think he needs Bones back on his bag to stop him from beating himself. Every round I've watched him play this year, he has played himself out of it by trying way too many ridiculous low percentage shots.

Webb Simpson is making a mockery of PGA Sawgrass. 6 shots clear.

-10 thru 15. If he pars out, new course record. If he can find 3 more birdies....a 59 which will be the greatest round of golf ever considering the course.,

And Tiger needs Butch Harmon back to straighten out his driver!

After that, bring back Hank Haney for his wedge game

Sawgrass is a weird course, get on a roll early it never seems to end, start bad it becomes a nightmare, I personally have played it 3 times with a difference of 14 strokes between the best round and the worst, the $400+ green fees don't feel great when you shoot 96.

Oh, prediction. Even with a 5 shot lead Webb Simpson doesn't finish top 3

Take out Webb Simpson and this would be a wild finish. Although, that seems to be the case with many tournaments.

Tiger turning back the clock is pretty fun to watch.

Another one of the same. So many tournaments fall off a cliff on Sunday with one hot golfer. I guess you can be excited about someone playing so well, but for me it just takes the wind out of the sails when the winner is virtually locked up.

Things are predictably brutal at Shinnecock. Would be very surprising if the winner isn't over par, could be looking at well over par if the course dries out.
