I was visiting from London and will be again this year. I spent a load of time texting to some guy on kijiji. I was offering what he wanted and couldn’t see what the problem would be. He/she kept replying that someone else was interested, then they weren’t, then they were again.
I gave up and only about an hour before the game as it was my only chance to see the Flames last season, I decided to try my luck outside the dome.

Yes, best not to deal with people like that. If you want to have no hassle, just go to TikTiks or FansFirst, I believe they were both started by CP members/Flames STHs, and they have lower fees than StubHub (and you aren't supporting the monopoly). CP is a great place to get tickets, I have bought a bunch of sets here, including tickets to Iggy Night, with no problems whatsoever.

I had a cousin of mine who got robbed in a silly situation from a kijiji user. He called the police right away, and the police traced the guy based on his IP from the kijiji ad still up. They apparently told him if the guy took down the ad, it'd be tough luck, but because it was still up they nabbed him the same day. I'd contact the non-emergency line ASAP.

Don’t feel embarrassed. This actually happens quite a bit.
It doesn’t help now, but in the future with Kijiji transactions always meet in person at a neutral location, preferably a district office during business hours when they’re manned (0800 - 2000 hrs typically).
Don’t ever meet at your house since a disgruntled buyer will know where you live and threaten liberties. Always meet in a well lit public area if not a d.o. so as to remain safe and protect from being robbed like that other fellow noted in his post.
If it’s a buyer from out of town and they can’t meet in person then always take payment first. If you’re a buyer from out of town, never pay first.

My tip for selling on Kijiji is ask for payment first and show them a screenshot of proof of your sth status if they seemed concerned. If they're not willing to send payment first after you show them proof you're a stand-up guy (who can afford season tickets), then pass and find someone else who isn't so stupid.
Face to face is a waste of time.

For the record, should anyone else make the same mistake:
File a police report. Take police report down to the Flames office, then they will reticket.
That’s what customer service has advised I do.
While it’s a hard learned lesson for me, hopefully this will help others in the future as well.

If you still have the message history in Kijiji see if you can click on their Kijiji profile - right hand side. If you can you should be able to see if they have any listings. If they happen to be selling Flames tickets (or anything for that matter) - bingo - offer to buy them (from a different Kijiji account) and meet them at some public place and then call the police when they arrive

Honestly, as a casual purchaser, this is why I only buy tickets from you guys on CP. Our long post histories and past sales posts are a great indication of trustworthiness, and it works both ways.
