It is funny to see that the Oilers snake is also 2 points back of where the Flames were after 13 games last year. They are also 10 points behind their terrific start in 2016.

By going 2-1-0 in the last three games, the red snake has moved 0.098 points above the black line. It is now tied with the green snake, and 7 points above the purple snake.

For those wishing to see the Edmonton snakes, here they are. Keep in mind the purple snake represents the best season Edmonton had in the last 8 years, and the blue snake is the 2nd best season Edmonton had in the last 8 years. The orange snake is 5 points below the purple snake and 6 points below the blue snake.

I honestly don’t know what’s better:

(1) the orange snake already being so far below the blue snake

OR

(2) the huge gap between the purple (best season) and blue (SECOND BEST [!] season) snakes!

The red snake is once again above the black line. With tonight's win the red snake has put a 0.585 point spread between itself and the black line. It is 2 points below the green snake and 7 points above the purple snake. The red snake is currently on a 1.20 PPG pace, good for 98 points on the year.

The Oilers are also at the 20 game mark, but are 7.415 points below the black line. They are on a 0.80 PPG pace, good for 65.6 points on the year. The Oilers would need to win their next 9 games to get above the black line in the shortest time frame. The orange snake is 6 points below the blue snake, and 7 behind the purple snake. Both of those colours won game #21.

And for those of you that like to compare current Albertan snakes, I give you these, as both teams have played 20 games. The red snake is above the blue snake by 8 points. The red snake is above the black line by 0.585 points, while the blue snake is 7.415 points below the black line.

Amusing to note that even though the Flames spotted the Oilers two points in Game 1, the teams were tied after Game 2 and the Oilers have been behind ever since. The blue snake definitely needs to take a pill of some kind.

I do not believe that Oiler's thing is a snake. Too droopy. It might be a tapeworm.

Well done. Two more lost games and the blue snake will disappear from the chart ... That being said, please do NOT re-scale the points axis. Seeing the Oiler snake "out of bounds" would become one of the most memorable moments in CP history.

The 2011-12 Oilers snake would fall off the bottom if that scale after game 38.
