Default Scratched Bluray

So, I bought out of the "Previously Viewed" at my local Superstore, and managed to find (at that time, I was unaware) a scratched copy of Monsters vs Aliens.

Being that it's one of my son's favourite movies, I tried to go to Blockbuster with a Free Disc Repair coupon I have. They told me not only that Bluray shouldn't scratch, but that their disc repair only applies to DVD, as it resurfaces, and that could destroy my Bluray disc.

I'm not sure I have the reciept for the movie anymore. I also got a bit of a run around when I called to see if I could do a straight up exchange, that the item can't be returned cause it's 'previously viewed' and that I had opened it.

They also do not have another copy of Monsters vs Aliens, and I don't really want to exchange it for another title.

Does anyone know of anywhere that will attend to scratches on a Bluray disc at all?

The new goggles also do nothing.

The material the blu-ray disc is made from is quite different, so I don't know if the normal methods (either sanding off a layer and buffing, or heating and pressing) will work, doubtful since the material is so much harder.

Some of those used game places might give it a try though.

Better off getting a refund.

I've heard stronger, and thinner, so resurfacing may not be the best option. The disc still plays, but freezes for a few seconds at a few points, or skips over full scenes.

Even if there was something to fill in the tiny little gaps.

Best thing I've ever used on DVDs. It fills the scratches, no resurfacing required. Haven't tried it on blu rays yet, only DVDs and games. Works like a charm. Buff it on, wait until it dries, buff off.

Warning: It won't look good, but it works.

Yeah any kind of polish might work, Meguiars or 3M car clear coat polish is the same kind of thing.
