That's like asking how many potatos he can fit in his ass. The answer is - probably a lot, but I sure don't want to know for sure.

Why are these "Year in Review" recaps never done after the year is actually over? There's still 26 days to go. A lot can happen in the last 7.1% of the year.

I still can't believe that people need a search engine to find WWE. I can understand if they want to find other sites than just their main one. I think it would be more interesting to see which sites have been clicked on from yahoo.

Britney Spears #2? Perez Hilton(celebrity blogger, I just learned that) #5? Paris Hilton #9? That's embarassing. I can't believe how obsessed our culture is about celebrity tabloids, good god...

Agreed. Let's make Calgary Flames #1

I'm suprised to see Nascar on the list. It is possibly my narrow-mindedness, but I thought the fanbase for that was moreso limited to SW states such as Alabama, Georgia etc..
I've never followed WWE, so I also thought that was dieing down.

I guess in the end, it really shows how much Canadians are engrossed with American "culture"

I went ahead and searched for the Top US searches were:
  1. Britney Spears
  2. WWE
  3. Paris Hilton
  4. Naruto
  5. Beyonce
  6. Lindsay Lohan
  7. Rune Scape
  8. Fantasy Football
  9. Fergie
  10. Jessica Alba
I guess with that list, it shows that WWE is still extremely popular. I somehow did not know this...
Also I had no idea what Naruto nor Rune Scape was, and had to google them to find out... I guess it shows that myself at the age of 22, really has no idea what is going on outside of my lil' peer group and surroundings.

I love how revenue Canada is on the list. You know you have problems when half the country has to look them up.....

Add in # 3 American Idol for being stupid celebrity trash, #3 wrestling for being just stupid (it is, and if you watch it deep down you know it is stupid) #7 The Ontario lotto which is a tax on people who are stupid and/or bad at math and #10 NASCAR which is, well, NASCAR and you've got one stupid country.

I also wonder what these searches really mean...
For example people searching for "NHL" who does that? I have NHL.com, TSN.com CP etc all bookmarked, but if I wanted info on those, they're simple enough to type in, so with this, aswell as the other most searched for things could we assume that only the uneducated really are demographed with these top 10's?

EDIT: Prottotype sort of beat me to it...

While I don't get nor watch NASCAR (does that stand for something, why is every letter capitalized all the time like the NHL which is National Hockey League) I think if you're making the point you are, and including NASCAR in that list, unfortunately, you have to include the NHL.

While being a NASCAR fan doesn't automatically make you stupid, it's just improves your odds. The same shouldn't be said for fans of other sports (except Raider Nation).

I think a lot of the reason why WWE is ranking so high on the search lists is because of the, well....bad things happening in that industry. Honestly, with the Chris Benoit murder/suicide, I expected WWE to rank much higher in Canada. Lots of bad news stories coming out of WWE the past year or so.

Very true...
However, wouldn't simply steroids be more searched for if this was the case...
This term would cover WWE incidents, MLB's, tour de france, even the NHL had rumors about possible steroid use.

Google is big in North America. Yahoo gets more action in the rest of the world. Apparently it's absolutely huge in Korea.

Where does porn rank in? Some how I think that list is a tad "filtered".

Has anyone tried Google Trends? It's absolutely amazing. Just type in any particular search and you can see who in a particular searches the most for that topic. Very interesting. example: Ween Enlargement = Philippines. haha.
