Preeeeeeeetty sure they only pulled down tracking temporarily until they fix the 3 step bug.
Not sure why everyone is losing their minds over it

Because they haven't said a word to the community about anything. Not that there's an answer that anybody is entitled to, but at least you can hopefully see why people are disgruntled. Especially since a (the?) core feature of the game hasn't been working for a while now.

Looks like they put foot/bike paths back on the mapping feature. On my walk today, all the footpaths I use were back.

I think the major reason why people are upset was it was working at one point and working great. From my understanding they removed it to stabilize the servers because the closer you get to a pokemon the more requests/responses from the server were needed which would overload the server.
It is also a communication thing. I am blown away by the lack of communication from Niantic. It is amazing how much a "We are looking into the 3 step bug" can go from a PR perspective instead of just removing the steps completely.

I have no clue why they removed the battery saver only from iOS. That's probably the most frustrating change out of them all.

I always found battery saver wouldn't work once it buzzed me it would just lock up then I'd have to force quit and re log in
So I quit using it on about day 3 after the Canadian release.

Frick, this game is getting expensive. Faceplanted while zombie-walking, broke the 6s. When at the fido store getting a new one, they tell me that I'm 2gb over my limit for the month. Nevermind the lost productivity at work...

That's odd I have had it on pretty constantly for the last two weeks with mostly data and it says it has only used about 400mb

I rollerbladed about 10km and it only registered about 4km...

I think a lot of it has to do with me watching instructional videos on it all. I never played the card game, so I was starting with 0 knowledge base 2 weeks ago.
Picked up slowbro, hitmanlee, primalape, 3 volpixes tonight. The spawning has definitely changed at PIP. So lucky to live here.

This new update is a real bummer IMO. Pokevision may no longer work which is ok with me as mentioned above. Some of the pokemons who were over powered are now lowered a bit.
Also, I'm not sure if anybody noticed it but it seems a lot harder to catch them now as they seem to break free alot more and run away quicker as well.
I also managed to hit lvl 20 at PIP after chasing summer last night.

Now that both the in-game tracker and Pokévision are things of the past, Random Pidgey Encounter Safari is much less fun than I thought it would be.

Was out for my walk today, and a couple things came up with a group of other players I caught up with.
How many KM have you walked now, with this game? For me, it just rolled over to 51 after today's walk.
How many 'items' do you average out of a pokestop? I get 3 pretty consistantly, but was interested to hear that a couple of folks were getting 5-6. I have...but it's a rare pokestop that gives me more than 3.

Must admit that this game does help me adventure around the city. I'd rarely visit Prince's Island Park, and now I've been twice this past weekend. Only been playing the game for 2 weeks, and Ive put on 33 KM. The pokestop by the Old Spaghetti factory with the big pillar gave me 8 items twice! Other stops usually give around 3-4 items I find. Sometimes I have to throw revives and potions away to make room for more items because I've filled up my bag.

I downloaded it and actually found it fun for awhile. Then I ran out of pokeballs and just don't want to run all over the place stocking up. Funny thing: my office is adjacent to one of the best places for Pokemon in the city. There are 60 kids outside my window at any given time of day.

If your within range of the pokestop from your office, then you can collect every 5 minutes and stock up every day

You sure level up fast / get higher CP pokemon going to Eau Claire a few times.
Now I just need some good luck for finding some unique ones!
How do research park and memorial park compare to eau claire? Worth trying those too or just stick with what works?
