He'd essentially be taking the defensive play role that Lindholm had as well. Only maybe even better. Lindholm's decent defensively. Coleman is very very good.

It all hinges on Monahan's fitness. If he's at 2019 level, great. 2021, nope.

You know, I kind of thought of Coleman as "Nordstrom who can score". Elite PK, good wheels, dogged on the puck, like Nordstrom (who I kind of liked). BUT he can actually pass and shoot.

A lot to like, but I’ve been hurt too many times before to let myself get excited about it.

God don't we have the best jersey set? Love it.

This seems like a similarly astute signing, like Frolik was.

Last year or two, will likely have him underperforming, but for the first 2/3, I'll take it.

Monny should've went back to 20 when he had the chance. That's the shakeup he needs to get back to a PPG.

We do.

We now just have to play as well as we look.

We brought shame to the best jersey set in the league in that shortened season and that was one of the saddest things about it.

Scorp clarified in a reply he's using:
Coleman, Backlund, Lindholm, Pitlick up front; Zadorov, Tanev, Hanifin, Andersson on D.

Yes. Boudreau said that.
Makes me wonder how connected to the league he actually is...

That's good, because with this roster the Flames will probably be bashing their way into a lot of penalties. Haha.

Makes me not question Tre for not hiring the guy, if he spoke to him

Zadorov will shut a lot of the haters up when he manages to kill his own penalties.

I like this signing, but of course, I also liked the Brouwer and Neal signins at the time.

Someone on the Flames subreddit pointed out that Coleman has played less NHL games than Hanifin:

Coleman: 301
Hanifin: 436

Compare that to Neal and Brouwer when they signed with Calgary:
Neal: 703
Brouwer: 613

Anything can happen but I feel better about the Coleman signing compared to those two.
