I've only leased once, but when I turned in my MINI I had to do a walk around with someone at the dealership to identify any wear/damage and sign off on it. They had this clear plastic card with markings to indicate if a blemish was big enough to worry about.

Funny story out of that return. I leased the car in Toronto then moved back to Calgary part way through. Kept MINI Canada in the loop, arranged turn in at at Calgary dealership. Showed up, dropped it off, walked away happy. Three weeks later, I get a call from MINI asking if I was ever going to drop the car off...

Turns out that the person who took the keys and paperwork put them in their desk and took off on vacation without telling anyone. Was pretty straightforward to get it all worked out, but I was two days from leaving for 5 weeks camping in NZ and it was a bit more stress than I was looking for.

Keep in mind that the car will go back to Nissan, not the dealer. The dealer is just a drop off location and have no stake in the vehicle. Since you are not getting anything new from them, it's really an inconvenience for them.

Definitely overkill. I have this one, that goes on sale for ~$60.

280ft lb, and I use a torque stick. On your first time, go immediately to the torque wrench after using it, and see how close it is getting before you go for a drive, then re-torque after. Once you have a feel for it you will know how long to hit each nut.
Yeah, definitely overkill for lug nut tightening, but for removal, it might be nice not having to reach for the breaker bar and knowing there's more than enough torque to easily loosen the nut with ease in most normal applications.

Absolutely, I wouldn't solely rely on the torque stick and hold down the button. The torque stick is more just in case I hold the button down an extra second or two by accident.

I have a cordless 1/2" Dewalt midsize impact and it cut the time to change over wheels and tires in half. I only give it a burp to tighten the lugs and then torque the entire car at once when its on the ground. Its kind of nuts to break the 140ftlbs lug nuts on my truck almost instantly with a cordless gun.

Ford is doing Lightning again so Chevy Thunder, perhaps? But that brings me back to the days when people used to put those really cringe Ford vs Chevy decals on their rear windows.

It’ll be the SS. These manufacturers are absolutely going to cash in on vintage name plate recognition, and GM better keep up. The demographic for these things is the perfect nostalgia age group, and with the capability of EV, that will be the new performance standard.

I use my electric impact for removal only.

Re-install by hand.

Unrelated, swapped over from factory spec Bridgestone Potenza RE050A AM2s that were strictly a summer tire to a set of four Continental ExtremeContact DWS06+ UHP all-season tires (245/40ZR19-285/35ZR19 99Y). My god, they're so much quieter and way more comfortable, the car went from the ride quality of an 85 Corvette to a Bentley. Still nice and sticky for some spirited driving, and given our city's tendency to have silly temperature swings, an UHP all-season is way more usable for a sports GT that is driven regularly than summer tires that are more compromised at low temperatures.

I've seen situations where someone used crappy lug nuts for winter that ended up rust fusing to the steelie. It took hours of WD40 saturation to get it loosened.

At the time, having an impact wrench to just attempt to carelessly zipping it off would have been nice (Didn't want to leave the one random tire in case the vehicle needed to be used in an emergency). Undoing everything and reversing the tire change so that there wouldn't be one random different tire was a PITA (It was a size down for winter, so mismatching would have been kinda weird). Also at the time, I was kinda dumb and thought it would be a bigger issue to have that one random tire, until my buddy pointed out it would have been no worse than someone putting on the donut spare.
