We will forever be connected to that ‘Blues Shuffle in C.’ You will be missed greatly, amigo.”
Yesterday was Drummer Joey Jordison and today bassist Dusty Hill. Unreal.

F**** the last time I saw ZZ top was a few years ago at the new Texas Stadium at a private show. They were amazing performers and musicians. What topped the night was Dusty throwing a half empty whiskey bottle at an idiot heckler.
Really old school and I loved the what I call Blues fusion with straight ahead rock. Every time I saw them I thought they were an amazing Bar Band gone great.

I was out driving today and Sirius was playing a lot of their music on their various channels. I started wondering if they either were going to announce a tour or if one of the band had passed. Sadly, one of the DJ's eventually mentioned that the bassist had passed. RIP, good sir. You gave me a lot of good music.
I'm 50% sure I had a 1 second encounter with him once. It was him or the other guy with the beard. I don't know them enough to know who's who.
We were driving up the East Coast on our honeymoon in 2011, just as Hurricane Irene was coming up as well. At one point, we had to shelter in a hotel in New Hampshire for 2 days while the storm passed. ZZ Top happened to be staying at the hotel at the same time, so every once in a while we saw them in the lobby. At one point he looked over and I gave him a nod, and he nodded back. Pretty riveting stuff.

I was of an age where Eliminator was my introduction to the band and I loved the songs and videos.
Then when I was a bit older, I listened to their old stuff and that's when I really got into the band. for me, ZZ Top is 1973-1983.
that being said, I believe their documentary is still on Netflix.

Motley Crue had a different singer for 3 or 4 years, and Tommy left for a few years as well. Poison had a few lineup changes as well. Also Aerosmith lost Brad Whitford left Aerosmith and was replaced in the early 80s. It's rare for bands to stick together that long-
