UMBC lost to Albany by 43 points in January. That's why March is the best.

Syracuse has held TCU without a field goal for just shy of nine minutes (and counting).

They have outscored TCU 10-6 in that time.

For your safety (and sanity), please do not watch.

Boeheim teams always sap the fun out of the game. Hate that program.

Go Horned Frogs!!

I always thought if a #1 loss, it would be an iffy, overseeded #1. But UVA was #1 ranked for the last few weeks, won the ACC tournament handily, and ended the year unanimous #1 in both polls and obvious #1 overall seed.

The Hunter injury hurt, but it shouldn't have mattered for this game. I'm not a UVA fan at all, and was cheering on the upset, but I feel kind of bad now for a lot of people I know. Also it would have been good for Charlottesville for their team to have a good run in the tourney after everything that city has been through.

My 8 year old son is a Texas second half collapse away from having a perfect left side of the bracket. (Provided Florida state hangs on to their 15 point lead).

Also, lots of Air Bud references. The hilarious thing is the mascot is actually a Chesapeake Bay Retriever. Beautiful dog really.

A bettor at Las Vegas sportsbook operator CG Technology on Friday placed a $20,000 money-line parlay on three heavy favorites in the NCAA tournament for a chance to win a net $870.

The bet: North Carolina, Purdue and ... Virginia.

The Tar Heels and Boilermakers delivered. The Cavaliers did not.

And the other side of it....

Quote:
At William Hill, which operates at more than 100 locations in Nevada, there were 25 money-line bets on Virginia at -10,000 (1-100). The largest? A $1,294.40 wager with potential net payout of $12.95.

Before the tournament started, Caesars Palace took three bets on UMBC to win the tournament at 5,000-1 odds.

UMBC wasn't the only team to pull off a big upset on Friday. No. 13-seed Marshall knocked off No. 4-seed Wichita State as a 13.5-point underdog. Amazingly, one bettor saw both of Friday's big upsets coming. On Friday morning at William Hill, a bettor placed a $40 two-team money-line parlay on UMBC and Marshall. The bet was placed on the book's mobile app and paid $7,280.

Those odds seem lower than they should be. I suppose 16 seeds get a lot of action every year from people wanting to cash in when it finally happened.

Also, after what happened to British bookies when Liecester won the Premier League, they generally don't give truly crazy odds like that as much anymore.

A few years ago, UMBC might have been 5000-1 just to beat Virgina, never mind to win the tournament.

20-1 for a straight win is pretty decent though, particularly in this type of format.

Just read this.

Quote:
UConn opened the 2018 NCAA tournament with a 140-52 victory over 16th-seeded Saint Francis (Pennsylvania) on Saturday, breaking the record for most points in a women's tournament game.
Just ridiculous the women go as deep as the men for their bracket.
