Cool snack ideas
Going to have some friends over tonight to watch the UFC. I haven't entertained a whole lot since I've been single and when I was with my girlfriend she was in charge of food (and was very good at it). One particular friend that is coming I would like to impress!
Any twit can buy a veggie tray and lay out a couple of bowls of chips! I'd like to do something a little cooler! I've got almost all afternoon. What are some cool snack/serving ideas you've done or seen?

I always like wings and cheese sticks. PC Superstore has good frozen wings as does M&M Meat Shops.
If you go to M&M Meat Shops they always have a bunch of fun party food, but it's easy to spend a lot.
A Mexican layered dip is always a great addition, but can take a while to prepare. There's a lot you can do at home to save money, even preparing your own wings and sauce, but you might have wanted to start earlier.
Maybe the best thing to do to earn points is have a nice selection of drinks available, especially if you are trying to impress a lady you might want to have more there than your regular beers, you could make some iced drinks. Don't get me wrong, I love a girl who just likes to drink a few beers with the guys, but if you're looking to impress you could always go the extra step.
Depends on what everyone likes I guess.

Does Affliction have a line of Snack foods?
Nacho chips with tribal designs burnt into them?
Cold cuts with multiple piercings in them?
Cheese wheel with super jacked abs carved into the top?
Make sure you have A LOT of Monster and Rockstar energy drinks on hand. That'll be a huge hit.

He never said it was a chick, he might be trying to impress a dude. If so, I recommend shish kebobs and beer.

I still recommend shish kebobs and beer. She can bring you beer and keep you company on the deck while you bbq.

Maybe not suited for your UFC pals, But when my daughters were younger I used to make them "Poo on the Pillow"
-Bowl of vanilla ice cream
-Dolop of chocolate pudding on top
I think they loved more because of what it was called
..........Good times

Well he did say in his original post that his former gf used to be in charge of snacks, so I thought it was a good bet he was continuing down the same path...
M&M's got all those kebobs and bacon wrapped goodies if you wanna go down that path.

Pan-fried pork and cabbage Chinese dumplings. Buy them frozen at Superstore or T&T.
Also, if there are a few girls, pick up some bulk "Sweet tarts" from Superstore and put them in a nice bowl and pass them around. Hopefully they will be charmed by the cute and heatfelt messages.

Also mini-burgers / sliders might work well if you have a nice supply of condiments and toppings for them and let people build their own.

Go to co-op and pick up some fried calamari rings. Just throw them in the oven for like 10 minutes. To go with them make a little bit of dipping sauce which is a mix of siracha sauce and mayo. A bit spicy but really delicious

But I really like the Pimento Heads chances this year. That offside call that cost them the division title against the Deviled Eggers last year was total BS.

I saw that game live, at midfield in the cashew section. It was nuts.
