Come on now that’s not a bad package at all; gives them many areas of need and Bennett could easily bounce back playing with a Tavares or Matthews. They lack a left wing like Benny who could also slot into Kadri’s spot if needed.

Stone is a RH steady D that they need and at a manageable term/AAV and Kulak+2nd is pretty solid value again bolstering their D/Futures.

Toronto is heavy on RW and they can’t keep all 4 of those guys and expect to find D. Change Kulak to an Andersson or Kylington and it’s very very close I just feel like Kulak could get it done too with that package.

Toronto doesn't need to worry about money this season do they? Its next year that Matthews & Marner are due correct?

Nylander is one of the most overrated players on message boards right now. He scored 3 more goals than Janko last year and Janko played 10 less games, on the third line. Way more assists but given the difference in opportunity, that Jankowski plays a premium position, has a much better two way game and is a bigger body who skates well, I don't think there is a big value gap there even without Andersson, certainly not enough to laugh it off as ridiculous.

Unfortunately for Jankowski there is a major glut at centre for the Flames and I don't see him playing winger or getting the same PP time as Nylander any time soon. Might be better for the Flames to move him for both him and the team if they are planning to play Lindholm at centre.

Edit - maybe I am missing some kind of joke on the Nylanders that prompted that

Bennett instead of Janko?

But Toronto would never take that lol.

William Nylander is my favorite player in the league. It's a pleasure to watch him skate and shoot the puck.

Jankowski had a 14.4 SP. So either he has a better shot than Ovechkin who has averaged 12.4 SP over his career or maybe Jankowski got a little lucky last year.

If we flipped Frolik a little later in the season and with a slightly increased cap I think we could easily fit him in.

Stone is 3.5
Bennett is 3.35 most likely his next contract; maybe more if he has a great season
Brouwer buyout saves us 3 mill or so off cap per year for the first 2 years.
Frolik would be 4.3 mill off

Easily fit him in.

Why do people think that more stuff makes the trade better. This offer is like trying to trade a quarter, three dimes and four nickels for a dollar.

Of course he doesn't have a better shot than Ovie, but how many shots did Ovie get off in comparison? Jankowski is more a playmaker than a shooter, and I don't think that his SP is much higher than what one could expect from him. It will probably tick down a couple of percentage points, but I bet his overall shots will increase as well.

Also, have you seen half the goals that Jankowski scored? His first was all luck (though good luck derived from driving the net), but look at most of his other goals. Some of them will actually wow you, and you may not think that a 14%SP is so crazy for him after all.

They are not trading any of those guys according to Dubas.

The thought behind my original proposal (nylander of Toronto for jankowski and Rasmus andersson) allows Toronto to acquire a bigger more natural center with good faceoff skills for their bottom six, a promising defenseman prospect that they really need, and most importantly save some money. Its a diversification play. Plus a tkachuk-lindholm-nylander second line would be filthy

That's our version of brown, Nielson and a second.

Despite being 4th overall Bennett hasn't lived up to the billing (yet). It would be a huge risk for Toronto to take and they could probably throw a Marlie on the left with those guys and get points.

Stone is a 3rd pairing guy they might use on the second pairing, under two years of control at a cap hit higher than nearly every number 5 in the league.

Kulak is a young cheap 6, which is pretty common in every team.

Nylander is a right shooting right winger with two straight 60 point seasons, who's likely going to get between 6 and 7 million on a new deal.

There were some who thought that dougie should fetch nylander straight up, others Marner.

This is the equivalent of oilers offering Russell, Matt benning, puljujarvi (after another poor season) and a second for Matty Tkachuk. No thank you.

They could be interested in trading brown or kapanen but even then I'd argue that they need cheap contacts where they can get them.
