Tommy Wheeldon has been nominated for coach of the year, Marco Carducci has been nominated for goalkeeper of the year, and Victor Loturi has been nominated for U-21 player of the year.
Don't think anyone from Cavalry wins an award, but good on them nonetheless. Pleasantly surprised by Loturi being nominated for U-21 player of the year, but IMO Yao was far better for Cavalry. Robbery!

Would Yao’s loan status affect award nominations?

Don't think so. Sirois was nominated and he was also on loan from Montreal.

Make sure you give away your unused tickets to put bits in seats for the team!!

Can’t believe we’re not subjected to Gareth Wheeler for this! Pleasant surprise.
I’m only watching if the result appears to be for Pacific. I’m not watching Forge win their first actual championship.

I was almost starting to feel bad for Forge Will the all the moaning in the last 15 minutes
I honestly don’t know if there’s a more unlikeable team than Forge.
Congrats to Pacific though. They really turned things around this year!

Late red card to Forge, classic. When the going gets tough they lose their minds as usual. Not surprising with Bekker and Smyniotis at the helm there

The incredible bias in that broadcast was stunning. Have a seat Forge and fans.

Speaking of bias from OneSoccer and the league media towards Forge, a Halifax supporter did a deep dive into the social media actions by both accounts in the week leading up to the final. The results will shock you. Or not...

Thank you for sharing this.
So many of us want this league to succeed, but until TPTB and its parts change, anything outside of Ontario will play second fiddle. Plus, the conflict of interest with Bob Young is so glaring.
There's so much I want to say, but a public forum isn't the best place to do it.

2021 Cavalry FC and CPL season thread
In response to his “things may run deeper” tweet…I reminded him about the 2019 Finals where the Waterman suspension was upheld while the impending Borges Red being rescinded prior to the second leg of the final.

It's not a big secret, to be honest.
At the end of the first season, I voiced there appeared to be a bias, and as I was leaving the building after the second leg of the final, I was chatting with a few of the Cavalry players who echoed the sentiment. One of the higher-ups overheard. I was never called back to cover the team.
While the league says it was for pandemic reasons, all of the freelance spots were cut, the only reporters they have are based out of Ontario, and I, along with the others who were part of the team for the first season, was taken off the league and team media lists.
One of the ring leaders of having non-Ontario freelancers cut is someone who shouldn't have a job with the league's broadcaster and was recently outed for posting inappropriate things on social media over the years.
That's why it's crucial to bring the Hamilton/Ontario bias to light. The league and the broadcaster need to be held accountable for the product they are providing.

Or the ball being out 15 seconds before on the first goal for Forge in leg 1 as well.
https://imgbb.com/1dKyCN9
Or the 4 months it took the CSA to investigate a racial slur uttered by a Forge coach after the CPL ran and hid (and the CSA did the same), and then a tearful letter written in defense of a coach got more coverage the the act itself.
A shock that Pacific won. A true shock. Especially as that was likely to be used in the highlight package for the USA game, after stealing it from Vancouver. And no Wheeler? Must have been doing Bob Young’s personal commentary, complete with happy endings.
Can’t happen two weeks in a row, the Bombers are unlikely to have running water or heat in their dressing rooms in Hamilton this week.
