Wide receiver Kendrick Bourne has agreed on a three-year deal to return to the New England Patriots that could be worth up to $33 million, his agent, Henry Organ of Disruptive Sports, told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Sunday.
The contract includes a signing bonus of $4.2 million, a source told ESPN.

Also the Pack are releasing De'Vondre Campbell.
Great player but cannot stay healthy.

Nine-time Pro-Bowl quarterback and former Super-Bowl champion Russell Wilson plans to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers, league sources told ESPN.
Wilson will sign a team-friendly, one-year deal in which the Broncos will wind up paying $38 million of his salary while Wilson wears the black and yellow.

Wilson is a huge upgrade over what they had last year.
Trubisky/Rudolf/Pickett combined
13 TD 9 INT 3421 YDS in 17 games
Wilson
26 TD 8 INT 3070 yds in 15 games
He will help them. Not sure it will be enough in that division though.
Its a juggernaut.

Wilson had way too much rope his first year in Denver, getting the freedom he thought the Seahawks were withholding from him the previous few years. New coach/first time head coach, he could run the show, and tried to, and fell flat.
Last year he had a coach who was riding him the whole year, not giving him the benefit of any doubt or any of the freedoms he had even in Seattle to call plays and add some input into the offense.
He will be an upgrade over Pickett, and unlocking the old version of Wilson, as Seattle figured out, and had to spend a lot of time on managing week in and week out, is a balancing act of letting him use his smarts and talents, but also knowing when and how to say no, and keep him on track and on game plan.

Pittsburgh would have likely made the playoffs last season if they received slightly below average QB play rather than poor QB play. I expect Wilson should be good enough to provide average QB play which could be good enough for the Steelers. That said he's going to be 36 during the season and it's getting close to the end for him so who knows if he will be able to replicate even last season's play. For the price though it's a worthwhile gamble and not nearly as costly as trading for Fields who is a bottom 20 QB in most metrics.

A quality backup is gonna run you north of $5 million a season, so getting a guy who will be highly motivated to try and earn another decent contract, on the league minimum, is pretty much a no-brainer. The risk, as it perpetually is with the Steelers, is he'll be good enough to make them a playoff team who has no chance to win it all, and they'll be here again next season deciding between extending Russ, going back to Pickett/Rudolph, or scouring the QB bargain bin yet again.

As a Steelers fan I think the Wilson pickup is a worse move than Trubisky.
While Pickett is not great I'd rather go with him than a washed up Wilson especially in a division with some great QB talent.

Why would you want the inferior player at the most important position?
Pickett needs to be rebuilt. Nothing wrong with watching and learning for a season.
Trubisky just isnt NFL starter level...not even sure he is back up level.
IMO this is a no-brainer for the Steelers.

In Pittsburgh, Wilson has a clear path to a starting job in an organization that has a rich, winning tradition and a well-established structure under a future Hall of Fame head coach. Schematically, Wilson's skill set and new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith's tendencies have the potential to be a match made in football heaven.
In his final season in Denver, Wilson had a QBR of 80 when using play action, compared to a QBR of 40 without it. He threw 11 touchdowns to one interception with play action and averaged 7.4 yards per attempt. Without play action, Wilson threw 15 touchdowns to 7 interceptions and averaged 6.7 yards per attempt.
During his three-year tenure in Atlanta, Smith's offenses used play action at the second-highest rate (32%). And in Tennessee, Smith employed a similar philosophy, building a balanced offense thanks to a formidable ground game anchored by Derrick Henry and complementary passing game.

The highest QBR in the league last year was 72.8 by Brock Purdy.

Aidan O'Connell is an unheralded 4th round rookie QB that walked into a bad situation with McDaniels and Jimmy Picks sewering the team and faired better than Pickett in his 2nd NFL season throwing for more yards and double the TD's in one less start. As a Raiders fan I'm hoping O'Connell isn't the starting QB for the Raiders next season so I'm not sure why any Steelers fan would want to see Pickett take another snap for the Steelers. He's just not an NFL starting QB.

I just don't know what the purpose is of going with Wilson.
Is he going to be better than Pickett or Rudolph? Yes, but
marginally.
Is he going to be the Wilson that existed in Seattle during his prime? No.
Is he going to give the Steelers a shot of competing in a division with Jackson and Burrow? No.
This is essentially a pickup that doesn't move the needle. As much as it would suck I'd prefer a disasterous season and a chance to draft a future franchise QB.

It’s a zero risk high upside move. It’s a one year deal, at worst he comes in and mentors Pickett, but what more likely happens is he pushes the Steelers into a much better team because all they were missing was a somewhat competent QB last year. Pickett was truly terrible, and Russ is a huge upgrade.
And for other qb options
Fields? Wasn’t happening
Cousins? Never happening
Tannehill? Russ>>>
Rookie? The guys available to the Steelers would be guys like Bo Nix, basically Kenny P level calibre.
There weren’t many options and of the feasible ones I feel like this is the best move
