There are apps that encrypt private conversations, so perhaps the FBI will have to send shills pretending to be QAnon believers into these apps to try to sniff out any planning of insurrection and/or terrorist events.

How is this different than sniffing out Al-Qaeda, other than in the USA vs outside of it?

I’m going to say that it is different by being eminently easier.

Jack Dorsey, on enforcing censorship:
Quote:
“We are focused on one account [@realDonaldTrump] right now, but this is going to be much bigger than just one account, and it’s going to go on for much longer than just this day, this week, and the next few weeks, and it’s going to go on beyond the inauguration,” Mr. Dorsey said. “And we have to expect that and we have to be ready for that.”

Yes, because shutting down the entire system for all is exactly the same as shutting down one person's access to the system after they repeatedly violated the rules.
The balls on these people.

Wow, the NYT have published all of Trump's Twitter insults since 2015. It's interesting browsing. There's a lot!

Remember when posters here said banning trump won't impact Twitters value?
I remember reading that and thinking, how in the world could someone think that, given the advertising and users Trump gave Twitter

I would agree, jury is still out on the Trump impact though.

Then buy puts or short the stock. Come back in a month and let us know how it's going.

What is with your response? I need to put my money where my mouth is on thinking Trump leaving twitter will hurt twitter ... in a thread about Trump leaving twitter?
All thoughts on social media need to backed up by financial bets now?

Well, for one, you started with the false premise of "remember when posters here said banning trump won't impact Twitters value?" which nobody remembers, because it was never said.
And the point pretty clearly here is not that you need to back up your position financially, literally nobody cares what you do, it's that it's just as likely the stock goes back up than it continues to go down. You're talking about 12 days of price movement here, it's absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Fine, it was "written" not "said", quotes from this thread:

Weird to take the time to insert the quote shortcuts but remove the actual posts and poster. Ah well. I’m with “mull”, all the people saying Twitter would be fine are wrong! It’ll be a Penny stock by month end.

Trump was good for the media. People love reading about him, writting about him, and thinking about him. Hell there are two threads threads with his name on it, and two others that regularly discuss him.
People made a lot of money off his antics, twitter included. The only reason they banned him was to protect their own liability.

Sorry, where does anyone suggest its value wouldn't be affected there? Those are actual responses to it being affected.
Twitter price took a hit and it has since started to rise again... which is exactly what those posters suggested, and it is entirely likely it continues over the following months.
What point are you making? That it dropped in the first place? Like... something that was news a week ago and the posts you're quoting are literally responding to? Hot take.
