Don’t wash... just wear them backwards next time. Then inside out forwards, then backwards, and with any luck the series is done!

It’s not like the Avs are an especially big team ...but the Flames certainly didn’t look like the weaker, smaller team that I expected to see. Bodes well for them

And yes, waving towels is lame. It’s a Vancouver thing that was born out of surrender. They make a cool souvenir though.

Good point about the souvenir, didn't think about that!

Mike Smith just might win the Conn Smyth.
Good Ontario kid, good ol' Canadian boy... Don Cherry would be proud.

J Garnet Hathaway - the hit that leads to the Mangiapane goal
Then hits the cross bar as he’s getting hauled down, and on the resultant powerplay, Flames score their second.
Don’t think there’s been a goalie chant since Kiprusoff left. There was about 6 for Smith, all well deserved. If one of those chances early in the second go in, the game is totally different.
Also, he had a real chance at a goal, but was in the wrong position when he got the puck behind the net. He would’ve had to have glided backwards to clear the net and have space to shoot, and that was a bit too much to attempt.

My first playoff game. I could not have asked for more. The shutout, the assist for Smith and the he smile on my son’s face.
I’ll remember this my whole life.

Just got home from the game/party. Best game I’ve ever seen Smith play as a Flame. Chucky was great too. I drank too many beers and made a spectacle of myself. God I love the playoffs. And the Flames! Let’s GO!

I can’t express how much I like that you made the noise makers out to be ridiculous, while at the same time admitting your (apparently remarkably liberal) use of them, to the point of destruction.

The towels were fine. After witnessing a few botched handouts in years past like thundersticks, necklaces, and orange Home Depot towels - at least these were red.
At worst they were neutral, at best it was a handy little stress ball to squeeze during those early Avs power plays.
