Can't wait for June. Since the Jets lost to St Louis I've lost interest almost totally in the playoffs.

Here's hoping they can hammer out a deal prior to the start of training camps...

TORONTO — The CFL and CFL Players' Association are now into marathon bargaining.

According to a pair of sources, the two sides met into the night Monday and got a head start on talks early Tuesday morning, with the expectation that negotiations will again go into the night. This round of bargaining began Sunday night and Tuesday's session was the final scheduled face-to-face session prior to the end of the current deal, which is set to expire Saturday.

That's a shame, Romar was really turning it on in the latter part of last season.

Replying to

Quote:
On the offensive line

"We feel good about our offensive line, we will get challenged with depth, always happens, but I feel as far as going into a season I feel as good about this group as I’ve felt about our offensive line the last five years.
Quote:
On Markeith Ambles

"Once again we’re moving him around. Very versatile. He went five straight games with a touchdown, that’s pretty good for a rookie."
Quote:
On Juwan Brescacin

"We signed Juwan to be a bigger part of the offence. You don’t sign guys to put them on there and play, you know, 40% of the time, so Juwan has to step up and he’s ready."
Quote:
On Kamar Jorden

"He’ll come in, we’ll get him looked at. I’m really not expecting anything out of him this year. If he can, great, but I think we’ve got to temper our expectations with that type of injury."
Quote:
On Ciante Evans, who has a broken wrist.

"If he does reach out to us or think the CFL is in his future, I sure hope he thinks the Calgary Stampeders are his family or his home, but as of right now we’re just moving forward."
Quote:
On Adam Berger

"He was getting married & we want to wish him the best on May 18 ... I didn’t quite get it, I had him pegged in as a starter, he worked so hard to get there, but he just didn’t feel right and football’s such a tough game if you’re not feeling it, you can’t play."
Quote:
Dave Dickenson, on June Jones leaving for XFL. (1/3)

"I’m concerned that the coaches are leaving, yeah. What can I say, the league’s not even up yet and we’re losing some good guys."

"We’re going to do what’s best for the CFL, we want this league strong, I want the coaches to feel like they’ve got a future. There’s been a lot of change regarding our situation, as well."

Dickenson was happy for Jones, btw

"There’s been more than a few leaving, it’s competition still, we know it, it’s competition for players, too. The CFL’s just got to make sure we do what we do, treat our guys right and make sure they’re challenged but also compensated fairly."
Quote:
Dave Dickenson said Stamps have options at D-tackle, but acknowledged he was disappointed to see Micah Johnson go to the Riders.

"It’s not like you’re replacing Micah, though, he’s a special man. Not only was he explosive and fast, there’s only so many of him out there."

Regarding Kamar Jorden, I can't recall who said it last week, but reports are that he is ahead of schedule with his rehab. I know the target was possibly Labour Day and DD is likely tempering expectations of when Jorden might be able to return.

It does feel like a reloading year especially on defense.

I'm hesitant to say rebuilding because this should still be a really competitive team.

I dunno Cap.

The losses on defense are immense between Micah, Ciante, Berger, Singleton and of course DeVone along with others.

Defense was the backbone of this club the last few years...and holy smokes will it look different now.

Right now i feel like this is a 10-8 type ball club but could swing wildly either way.

Dickenson certainly has his hands full and IMO he is one hell of a coach, so eventually I see things getting better.

I have all the faith in the world that HUf and DD will return this club to elite status, I just think it may take a couple years.

I think there's going to be some real battles in the West.

I get what you're saying on the defense, last years D was one of the best that I've ever seen, at least since the Edmonton Dynasty Days and BC when they had Cam Wake et al.

I like the look of the Calgary offense a lot though. I like the receiving corp, I really like the backfield, and Bo returning helps a lot. I am concerned with the center position, and I hope Dennis has a bounce back at blind side tackle. This offense will have to score more then 20 points a game to win unlike last year.

Honestly think its going to be a three horse race in the West.

Winnipeg looks strong everywhere. BC gaining Reilly is going to help a team that offensively struggled last year. I think Edmonton is going to fall off big time, you can't replace Reilly with Harris and expect the same results because Harris isn't the same kind of QB. I think that the Riders didn't address the QB position and is going to struggle badly on offense and the loss of Jones is going to be huge.

If I was to guess

Winnipeg
Calgary
BC
Sask
Edmonton

To the bolded...i agree but i am not convinced the O line is deep enough to allow that when the inevitable rash of injuries hits them.

So did Morris pass the physical then? He was so lookin good as a replacement when Jackson was hurt.

18 receivers in camp. Jorden will start the season on the 9 game IR i suspect.

God the loss of Micah Johnson was so big...ugh.

Is it wrong that I'm hoping Cozart supplants Arbuckle as Bo's backup?

IIRC he didn't pass the physical.

Nope, he's an exciting QB prospect especially if you're running a option heavy offense. I love his footspeed, at the college level he was a good decision maker. I'm not all that sure if he has pro arm strength yet.

But I would love to see the Stamps bring him in on short yardage. Or an occasional option package. BS would also spread him out to the WR slot and give him the option to pass or run off the bubble.
