Wait a minute, are you telling me it's possible to reach an agreement without a work stoppage or strike? Does Gary Bettman know about this?

Good news! I was honestly never too worried about it, but great to hear they’re coming to an agreement before training camp opens

I would think that the economics of this deal probably havent changed much from the previous. Anxious to see what has really changed.

Being told that the new #CFLCBA will be a 3-year deal, assuming its passed. Salary cap will continue to go up 50k per year, as it does in the current deal. Minimum salary to increase to 65k in year 2 and 3 of CBA.
@CFLonTSN

The net effect of the #CFL salary cap going up less than 1% and the minimum salaries going up 20% is that veteran players will have to take pay cuts next off season.

I was hoping the players would get a little more but it's good to see the minimum go up as some of these guys are risking serious injury and should get compensated better than what they are now.

Yeah, I wanted the players to be paid more but I’m glad the season will proceed on schedule.

Or they reduce or eliminate the ratio so you don’t have to pay some bozo with a Canadian passport 175k a year to play oline when there are hundreds of cheaper and better skilled options down South.

A man can dream......

Good news! I would have liked the salary cap to go up by 100,000 a year for three years, but this is a good start. It will all come down to the next TSN contract and how much that produces.

What's special about 100k figure you came up with? It would be great if the cap could be $20 million per team but CFL teams make very little money for the most part. The salary cap being too high could cause the league to collapse.

The Calgary Stampeders have signed the three players they selected in January’s inaugural Canadian Football League-Liga de Futbol Americano Profesional (CFL-LFA) draft.

The players from the LFA, Mexico’s top league, are receiver Andres Salgado (first round, ninth overall), kicker Oscar Hugo Silva (second round, 18th overall) and offensive lineman Guillermo Calderon (third round, 27th overall).

Man, look for even more volatility on the Esks sideline this season as hothead Jason Maas is joined by AJ Gass.

Maas has been told his job depends on toning down the volatility, which he did in the latter part of last season. TBD, I guess.

That time period was also correlated with a lot of losing. One would think they have to make the playoffs for him to keep his job, volatility on the sidelines or not. Tough ask with an inferior QB to Reilly and given the shape of the west this year.
