Mandatory Activity: Roster Checks (deadline Sunday)

Hey folks
This is one of the most important off-season activities. I've updated the sim with all trades, signings and releases. But I now need everyone to check their rosters and send in corrections. With hundreds of off-season moves there will be mistakes that need to be corrected.

In addition, this is also your chance to add positions to your players. As a reminder, once our season starts, players can only play positions that are included for them in the sim.

Let's take this a piece at a time.

Step 1.
Download the GM editor if you haven't already

Sometimes during the summer as the versions get update you won't be able to load the roster file if I need to update the whole sim, so let me know if that's the case.

Step 2.
Download the updated roster file:

Step 3.
Email cphltrade with all your changes in the following format.
Subject line: Team name changes
Content:

1. Players to be added
- This should include the players name, and which team they are on now, or if they are unassigned in the sim
- Only players that played enough games in the AHL or NHL have ratings. if you want a player added that isn't in the sim, note it, but remember they will have 50s across the board

2. Players to be deleted from your team

3. Positions to be added for each player
Put the name of the player the positions to be added, and a link that proves they can play that position
Player profiles from acceptable sites are
- NHL.com
- TSN
- The Hockey News
- Sportsnet
- ESPN
- hockeydb
- Capfriendly
- Rotoworld
- Hockeyreference

Not acceptable
- Articles that make mention of a player's position. We need profiles
- Hockeysfuture
- Eliteprospects
- Junior hockey links to justify an NHL position

Forward is not good enough to justify the player being used in all positions. Similarly "winger" doesn't mean you can play them as RW and LW. We need specific positions.

4. ECHL players you wish to sign that you haven't already.

So stupid question, as I open up the sim, most of my AHL and ECHL players aren't on there, we're only tracking the ones that the sims recognize, or do I have to send in all of the missing players from my farm.

Echl players aren’t in the sim at all as you can’t play them
Ahl players are in the sim if they played in the nhl or ahl. So send any omissions in who fall into that category

Just use a VM or bootcamp. I haven't owned a mac in a long time now but I used to use bootcamp pretty easily.

Bootcamp is really the best way to go, any other way is a nightmare.

I've been using a Mac for the CPHL for over a year now, I use something called xQuartz to do it. If people are interested I'll cobble together a set of instructions based on what I've read and post it here in the next day or two.
