I enjoy many horror games, but I agree that Prey and Last of us were very successful in creating a type of angst that many other modern horror games don't have. It's like jump scare central. I can see why some people didn't like it even if it wasn't necessarily as dark as some of the other games.

I absolutely detest zombie shows/games and I still really loved this one. The opening sequence had me hooked.

Ya when people start doing the “Game of the Decade” thing at the end of the year, The Last of Us 1 is going to be a top contender. One of the all time greats.

I still say best game ever made. Obviously depends on how you weight various aspects but it absolutely transcends the medium as a storytelling vehicle.

So MLB the show and TLOU are the free games in October, not bad at all. I may have to play TLOU again.

Same as last time I think. PS3 - 2006. PS4 - 2013. Just on time for next year.

I’m not sure about best game ever made, but it’s the best story and voice acting in a video game as far as I’m concerned. I have trouble imagining how someone could not like it.

You'll be surprised to know that for Sony at least, this is typical.

PSX was released in 1994
PS2 released in 2000 - six years later
PS3 released in 2006 - six years later
PS4 released in 2013 - seven years later
If PS5 releases in 2020, that's also seven years.

From an overall start of generation standpoint, the Switch is going to screw that up when it is retrospectively moved to 9th gen. Wii U was the first 8th gen system to release, in fall 2012. If Switch gets moved, then it would mean only 4 1/2 years from the start of gen 8 to the start of gen 9.

So as not to hijack the Tech thread Raekwon I will respond in here. (I recently bought a new gaming rig and am looking for games to play).

I grew up on games like FF2/3, Lufia, Shining Force, Ogre Battle, Tactics Ogre etc.. those were always my jam. I played a lot of MMO's. Probably my favourite game of all time was Ultima Online 1997-99.

So what games can we recommend in that genre for PC, or even outside that genre that are just games, that can take full advantage of a Fully Armed and Operational Deathstar of a machine.

For a tactical RPG it doesn't get much better than Divinity Original Sin 2 on PC. Mutant: Year Zero is also very good, like a cross between the original Fallout and XCOM. The Shadowrun series is also excellent, though the graphics aren't anything special

I've been playing Divinity 2 on Switch and it's amazing. Pretty steep learning curve but once I figured it out I've been hooked

I watched a review for the Switch version and it's impressive how they were able to include everything in the PC version, albeit at a reduced graphics quality. You can even sync with Steam cloud saves.

My only gripe with Divinity 2 is the final battle was incredibly difficult.

So I played in the last beta and installed again for this beta. I have uplay+ so I can play it on Tuesday but damn for the life of me I can't get into it which is weird because I love Division 2. I think its more of a tactical stealthy game with less action and it doesn't appeal to me. What did you think?

Don't forget to check out humblebundle.com they have nice bundles also for deals.

Greenmangaming (Official store with cheap games good deals)
Steam (Of course, Has their own client)
Epic Store (Free games every week, Has their own client)
Origin (Has their own client)
Uplay/Ubisoft (Has their own client)
Microsoft Game Access

Sometimes I wish there wasn't as many options as there are and they could focus on less more polished games overall but capitalism is king so we get an overwhelming amount of options.

Also don't forget if you like console games get yourself a PS4 controller and the PS4 PSnow software and play a nice selection of console games right on the PC.
