I actually had to fast forward that gun commercial to make sure I wasn't going to be surprised with something really shocking. To be honest though, when the kid fumbled with the gun near the end I jumped. I have an extremely healthy fear of firearms despite being trained in their use. I am firmly in the heavy gun control category and feel the USA is way too far past the point of no return when it comes to their gun issues.

Young black Chicago gang members use handguns to mostly kill each other, It's usually a crazy white guy who uses a weapon of war to do mass shootings of complete strangers.
As for gun control start by banning 30-100 round mags as there is only one reason for them.

I have this really wrong belieft, that the congressmen, and senators and governors and any politicians that rally behind the flag of 2nd amendment gun rights over sensible gun control. The ones who offer prayers for the family should be forced to view the autopsy videos, and sit down with the families of the vicitms. A shooting death isn't a pretty death, The families very real grieving and anger and questions over why this keeps happening, yet nobody does anything meaningful is real, and if you're a politician who thinks that mega magazine fully automatic weapons is a real and neccessary right should have to face the consequences of their action.
I am for gun control, I think I'm clear on that. But for sure the Americans are dumb about it, and honestly the constitution can't be a suicide pact. I think the Canadian Gun control measures have massive holes that you can drive a tank through.
I think that for the most part, its simple. Politicians are not qualified for the jobs they do, they're not the smartest people on the planet and they're easily bought off or swayed, and there's no common sense in the political world.
