My foursome all walk and our best time is 2:45 with an average of 3:30 per round. Ready golf off the tee box and no PGA style measuring up putts on the greens.

Some of the best advice I can give when it comes to value for $100+ rounds is take a vacation day and book a Monday or Tuesday round in mid May at either Silvertip or Stewart Creek. Yes, it will be a little pricey, but will still be their early season rate and not that different than the weekend prices Malcolm posted for city courses. And most importantly, you will quite possibly have the course to yourself... Quite often a graveyard at those 2 courses early in the year on a weekday. I think I did those two in May and June last year and barely saw a soul. Maybe its just me, but I love that.

Heck, my dad and I make a point to play Stewart Creek once a year during the week in the summer time and the place is pretty quiet.

Jealous of you guys already playing this year. Haven't swung since last fall, and I depart on Friday to play the alice cooper charity tournament. Hooray, I get to launch sod chunks in front of celebs.

Played yesterday. Not bad at all on Springs-Mountain. Some sandy fairways, but otherwise pretty good.

Shot 39 on 9 holes at silverwing last night using a rain check. Best 9 ever for me.

How does the 27 hole config at Elbow Springs work? Do they setup two 9 holes as one 18 hole course and the other strictly as a 9 hole course?

Just rotates front and back 9's. Same as Silverwing.

9 holes = A, B, C
Simple Example: 7am-9am:

Course 1 consists of A and B,
Course 2 consists of C and A

9:30-11:30
Course 1 consists of B and C
Course 2 consists A and B

12:00 - 2:00
Course 1 consists of C and A
Course 2 consists of B and C

Last weekend was cold as balls but damn it was a good day to golf.

3 hour round (with cart) afternoon on a weekend. Only saw 2 other pairs.

Not quite that simple, as between 9:30 and 11:30 you'll have players from course C crossing to A, so you can't tee players off course A. And between 12:00 and 2:00 you'll have players crossing to C from B.

There are a few times per day when you can have two tees going, but most of the day you're down to one tee.

One example I've seen is:

Open to 10 AM - Course B-Course C
8 AM to 2 PM - Course A-Course B
12:30 PM to 6:30 PM - Course C-Course A
4:30 PM to closing - Course B- Course C

So the only times of day you have two tees running simultaneously are 8 AM to 10 AM, 12:30 PM to 2 PM, and 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM.

Played Water Valley today. What a hidden gem that place is. Cheap and a very interesting layout. Also quite beautiful. Will repeat.

Playing GlenEagles for the first time tomorrow, anyone play there yet this year?

At those prices the greens better be in pristine condition! Wanted to play Heritage Pointe but my group opted for GlenEagles.

Sounds like your group must live in the North. Hertiage over GlenEagles any day.
