Trying to understand why he felt she was talking about him when he wasn't on council before this term.

I've met Sean Chu in person before. I was walking to my car in Beddington when he suddenly appeared from behind a bush (I did not know who he was at the time). I at first thought he was a lost person, but when a lady appeared beside him, I considered the possibility he wasn't lost.
"Mr Chu would like to discuss with you his platform as he hopes to be elected into council." Said the woman
Sean Chu grinned weirdly beside the lady.
I excused myself by making an excuse about being in a hurry. I don't recall what was said after, but it was some weird request about meeting with me or friends so he could explain why he deserved to be elected (All through translator lady).
Definitely one of the most bizarre interactions with someone I have ever had. His modus operandi is whack.

Nenshi's reply to Chu at the end of the video was hilarious.

Im still surprised he was police office for 21 years as per some more recent articles.
I also wonder if he quit his job or he took a leave of absence from the CPS. Shelly Glover, an MP from Winnipeg, is/was on a leave of absence to run for an MP position and then to sit as an MP. The leave of absence did cause some discussion among constituents.

Chu vs. Druh makes for a giant flaming ball of crap. When I first started seeing references to drunk councillors on Twitter yesterday, I knew those two would be square in the middle of it all.

Now If this was "The Ongoing Druh Farell Transgressions Thread" then that would make total sense.
The constant public grandstanding by Druh Farell is never ending.

I find the whole thing funny.
Let's pretend for a minute that this wasn't the "sacredness" of government but rather a regular old office.
Yes you used to be able to have a drink on the job. That no longer exists. At least anywhere I've ever worked. It is grounds for immediate dismissal in most jobs. In these parts any with the government has explicit instructions that alcohol is not be offered or accepted when dealing with US government employees.
Poor hard done by councilors having to abide by the same rules as the bulk of the working public.

Start one then. As bad as Druh has been over the years Chu has surpassed her in every way. He's a complete bonehead.

This could possibly explain why he had a campaign sign placed on our lawn despite us saying that we didn't want a sign and weren't planning on voting for him.

I wonder if Sean Chu subscribes to CP?
Also, would he "think before he speaks"..after reading this thread.
BTW. IMO, my 8 year old has mastered the "think before you speak" rule much better than him

Depends on your definition of a translator. She spoke Cantonese at first. When we didn't reply (shocked someone just jumps out of a bush wanting to talk politics on a foreign language) swapped to English. He didn't speak at all in either language. Just grinned like a weirdo.
I was invited to one of his community chats or whatever they were but didn't go. A friend who went said it was a waste of time. Instead of a Q&A, he apparently ranted for a few hours about random things. Apparently, no one had the guts to interrupt him or leave (Asian thing).

I definitely look Chinese because I am. But being specifically targeted to a foreign language conversation out of the blue about "Mr Chu's platform" is still highly bizarre.
I'm still not sure who was/is worse. Sean Chu or John Mar. But that's a discussion for another day.

It's kind of stunning how literally he takes things.
If somebody said to him that it was a clear day; but there was one thin, tiny, wispy cloud on the horizon, he would think you are lying to him.

Pressed after the meeting for details on which charity handed out the car, Chu could not remember. "I didn't write it down, I just saw it in the Google search"
Seriously?
