6 runs in 4 1/3. About what you’d expect from Roark.

I was pretty happy with the pitching until recently. Now it feels like it's all falling apart.

I actually do well with him. Shoemaker is my man though, I do better with him than I do with even Ryu for some reason.

Again the 3rd time through the order killed him. He's a guy you need to yank the second the leadoff guy comes up for the 3rd time. I also think he'd look better with a high velocity opener in front of him.

The rookie made a pretty big rookie-ish mistake, he's way too slow to be going home on a grounder to 3rd. Out by a mile. Stay put and take your chances with the next batter, it wasn't even a force play. Need to clean that stuff up before the playoffs.

Not going to do anything in the playoffs with the pitching they've been getting recently.

I need to remind myself that this not a year they're supposed to truly compete.

Same. I try not to get myself too worked up since this season has been a pleasant surprise overall, even with some of the warts.

Hopefully there are Covid complications in the playoffs allowing Ryu to pitch 2 times in a 3 game series and 4 times in a 7 game series.

I'm pretty sure that they are running a six man rotation to save arms, and in the playoffs you are looking at Ryu, Walker, Ray and Shoemaker.

Well Roark won’t be starting a playoff game, so we don’t have to worry about that.

This result was expected. Best pitcher in baseball versus the worst.

Move on

For playoff ranking...

Indians.: 9 (would move to 7th)
Yankees: 9 (would move to 5th)
Twins...: 10 (passing all 3 teams would move them to 4th)
Orioles (we have the tiebreak), Tigers and Royals can now no longer catch us with their losses today.

That means it's Angels and Mariners. Mariners look like they're going to lose today and Angels are winning right now so magic number of two for each with five games to play.

Magic numbers updated...

Seattle: 2
Angels: 2
Orioles: 0
Detroit: 0
Royals.: 0

Despite the loss tonight, they eliminated 3 teams from the list

No progress with respect to playoff ranking...

Indians.: 9 (would move to 7th)
Yankees: 9 (would move to 5th)
Twins...: 10 (passing all 3 teams would move them to 4th)

A Jays win with a Angles loss and Mariners loss would be a clinch - exciting times!

lol small sample size and all, but I just noticed that Vogelbach has 13 games and 43 PA's with the Brewers now and is slashing .395 / .458 / .651 / 1.109

Unreal.
