The Capitals were perfect on the PK going 5/5. Oshie scored 2 goals. Carlson scored the GWG early in the 3rd period and had 2 points as the Capitals hung on with Holtby in net.

Mikko Rantanen had 2 goals and Francouz was a stud in net for the Avs. He made some great saves in the 2nd period as the Flyers out shot them 17-5. He had a shutout going until Giroux scored with 5 minutes left in the 3rd period. The win puts the Avs in 1st place of the western conf.

It was exactly 3 weeks earlier the same 2 teams played in the Bell Centre and it also ended in OT. This time it went the Habs way. Other similarities had Tkachuk scoring in both games and the Habs had a PPG in each game.
