I'm not going to pretend to know how the dressing room felt while the team was slipping under Peters. But that definitely looks a lot more fun and how it should be!
I will.
Based on the team's player, and attitude during and after post games, they're feeling a lot more relaxed, and look to be enjoying themselves.
Winning is fun, and does contribute to it, but this looks to be a stronger response than just playing hot.
Call ups being productive is going to inevitably create something of a logjam in the forward ranks. Rinaldo is just the latest guy making his claim. Will be interesting to see how things shake out.
I saw multiple people reference both Blades of Steel and NHL 94 last night. I was always under the impression that teams thought they were doing an NHL 94 celebration.
Except neither game, as far as I can tell, has ever feature a celebration where players raise their sticks Tusken raider style. I even googled it and all I could find is people arguing which game it’s from and others speculating that it’s a Mandela effect type deal where people are falsely remembering this celebration ever being featured in any video game.
Interesting!
I always associated that celly with 'classic Nintendo' - but you're right it's not the BoS or the NHL94 celebration.
I think it comes from the OG, Nintendo Ice Hockey:

Johnny doesn't appear overly happy in that clip. :whistle

I'm just glad we don't have to wade through a bunch of posts with
"Coach killers"
"This is all on the players"
"The coach is 100% NOT the problem"
"Stability is absolutely necessary, can't let the players run the asylum"
I'm one of the folks that has said coaches get too much of the blame.
But I'll be more than happy to be wrong on that. In fact I would be trilled if the Flames end up being an example of how a mid season coaching change can turn a seasons fortunes.
The players need to deliver. But if i'm wrong about the impact a coach can have - great. Because that means the Flames will have had a damn good season.
And if that happens you can slide that big beautiful plate of crow over and I'll dine away.

Never understood it. Frolik always works his butt off and never really seems to complain. He's not as skilled as he once was but he's still a very useful player and a team guy. What did Peters have in for him? Seems like just the weirdest guy to pick on.
Monahan giving him the hat tonight in that clip seemed like an explicit "welcome back." Great to see the team building atmosphere.
When the flames make the playoffs this season. I feel alot better with Tkachuk, Bennett, Lucic and Rinaldo. Even if they lose, the other teams not going to get out of it unscathed.
