23 hour turnover, with travel
3rd game in 4 nights,
depleted lineup, including 3 Dmen out
Going to be tough tonight, but if they can pull it off, it is going to be glorious!

I will give it to Oiler fans, I went over to their fan forum and they are very confident for fans of a team that has sucked for as long as they have.

Scoring Winger
|
The pressure is all on the Oilers for this one. They are playing at home. They are rested against a team that played 23 hours ago. They have lost 3 in a row to the Flames. They are playing better hockey as of late. They think they are the victim after the last matchup.
The pressure is all on the Oilers and I think it will get the best of them. 3-2 Flames.

It's to be expected that the Oilers will be looking for some retribution. Regardless of score I hope no one gets hurt, especially on an extra curricular. On that note I hope Mr.Chuck continues his friendship tour.

The Oilers are such a delusional, arrogant fanbase. I saw one post on HF where an Oiler fan says it has been a long time since the Flames has a deeper more talented team than they did. Like seriously?!? They have finished ahead of us on the standings twice in over 15 years and one year was a lockout shortened season the other was their fluke run a couple years ago.
They are riding high after beating a bottom feeder in a shootout and a team that lost 7 of 10 playing on the second half of a back to back.
Nothing would be sweeter than a Flames dominant win lead by a huge multi point game by Tkachuk.

PSA no one cares about HFOilers, and if they did they would already be reading it.

Everything is in the Oilers favor tonight...
3rd game in 4 nights
Back to back with travel
The 2 guys who would normally be tasked with defending McDavid out (Gio/Backlund)
Flames are going to need another big game from 13/23/28 and Rittich is going to have to be a wall, but I have some confidence that it can all line up for us with how the boys have been playing lately. GFG!!

The one thing that is in Calgary’s favor is they are a better team. Even without Gio and Backlund they are deeper on the blue line and upfront. A win tonight puts the Flames into 2nd in the NHL and 10-1-1 in their last 12.

And that's enough. We don't need ongoing discussions of it. It has a very Oiley taste to it.

Every last bit of logic I have within me says that there’s no way the Flames should win this game. And if this was last year’s team I wouldn’t even waste my time watching it.
AND YET
There’s no way I can bring myself to miss watching what the boys are about to do tonight. It’s so nice to see a team that plays with so much confidence. No more hanging heads looking at iPads.
Gonna be a track meet. 6-4 good guys.

Tkachuk and Bennett are going to be focused on tonight after last game. Nurse is going to be looking for Bennett all game.
Flames need to keep this game simple, let the Oilers play recklessly, draw penalties and make them pay for it.
Even with our Dmen out I still like our top 6 better. Going yo be a heck of a game tonight.

All I know is that the Flames are going to show up to play. Edmonton had better be ready.
