That's the point. These will be. And it's kind of like trading with the Oilers: once you do it once, suddenly it seems to be fair game to keep going.

That said, it was inevitable. And as the road team, we were always going to be in white.

In addition to the existing white away jerseys, which are available for purchase in every FanAttic store. But very few people buy them.

These have a bit more appeal (as special event jerseys), but if/when they end up being the road jerseys, I'm not so convinced they'll come even close to representing a quarter of all Flames jersey sales. I think it'll still be an overwhelmingly red crowd.

^ Actually, they never had whites on the shelves at the Saddledome Fanattic. Specifically to minimize the market for non-red jerseys.

Always had to go to North Hill Mall for whites. Which, also limits the market.

I did a re-design for a team similar to this (past elements updated and brought together) and bringing the primary colour back to the arena was a big focus. The teams colour on the shoulders does a LOT to add that - so the C of Red is stronger with this in their kit IMO!

Sometimes with these throwbacks they over-do the waist stripes, or don't tweak the design for the updated cut enough to have good balance - but this looks absolutely perfect. Tastes of the old, but with a properly sized logo, clean cut and crisp threads this is a phenomenal jersey.

So it's happening. White retros, which opens the door to full home/away retros next year. That would also mean this is the last season for the red/black home jerseys, and the potential for a new third jersey next year as well.

Hope they do a minimalistic black/red third jersey -- I heard it's all about amplifying street style these days...

It's crazy that it's been 25 years since the Flames wore this style of jersey in a game.


Even crazier to think that they only wore this jersey for the first 14 seasons in Calgary. This will be the 13th season with the flags on the shoulders.

The fact that we've had these stupid flag should patches for 13 seasons is ridiculous.

Especially because the team actually did design a good shoulder patch in that time, that unfortunately was lost with a terrible uniform.

Wouldn't mind these being added to the jerseys if they go with a the retro's full time (as the CPer who re-colored it did) to make it so it wasn't 100% just retro.
