I think we could hire a few more 911 operators if we cut our helicopter air time by 50%. I'm not even opposed to the tank things we have. If needed I'll be happy we own them. But that fataing helicopter is ridiculous. Such police-state bs for the bootlickers to fap over.
Wouldn't a drone be cheaper, or do we have those, too? Would also like to see every second of flight time publicly accounted for...as it stands I don't believe we need it as often as I hear it.
Finally starting in on the bathroom renos. This is something that has been "on the list" for years, and always pushed back. The guys just left from the first day of demo, and I'm getting excited.

WRMM happy is an early Christmas gift of good health for my father-in-law. In November, he was told it was likely he had bladder cancer. He was scheduled for surgery in Edmonton on Nov 29 but given all the illness overwhelming the hospitals, it was postponed until yesterday and moved to a different hospital.
He was released this morning and while they did find a tumor, it was much like the thyroid cancer my daughter had, where removal of the tumor is the cure. It's classed as a noninvasive papillary urothelial carcinoma - so no invasion of the muscle or connective tissue of the bladder. They removed the tumor and placed a couple of stents that he has to have removed sometime in 2023 but no other treatment is necessary - so no chemo/radiation etc.
This is a huge relief for all of us, but particularly Pa, obviously. Really thankful for this outcome.

Loaded some boxes in the backend of my 06 Escape this morning and went to close the glass portion lid and it wouldn't lock in place. So I drove to the Ford dealership here in High River and explained my problem, thinking maybe a latch had broken. Tyler told me to leave in the shop bay to thaw out and they would check it out. In the meantime they gave me a drive home.
Tyler phones 3 hours later to say the latch was frozen and that they lubricated it and all my doors and everything is working fine. Someone came and drove me back to the dealership. Best part was there was no charge for the service

We volunteer with a non-profit, that would take too much to get into to explain, but we deal with a lot of Scout/Cadet/Cub groups etc - located out where we have our trailer. We have to have a caretaker on site, so we have tenants out there. They texted early this morning to let us know the furnace crapped the bed this morning. My husband looks after all land/building related items, hence us getting the text & later on, phone calls.
Fortunately, our tenants had plans today, to spend time with 1 of their kids in YYC, so they are warm and cozy (thank maude it's warmed up!), and we were able to have them put a bunch of electric heaters in there for the time being, and they know what to do in terms of the taps, etc, to try and keep the pipes from freezing. Another person that's part of the non-profit decided a couple of days ago to spend today through Monday out there, in their motorhome, so he's out there to assist with this next part.
Hubs was on the phone as soon as he could, trying to find a plumber that would at least let us know if they had the part in stock, we'd pick it up and install it, to get them heat. Guy sourced the part and will be out there this afternoon, to get everything fixed up and get our tenants heat. On Christmas Eve. Finding a guy willing to do that, is amazing. No one else answered their phones (I don't blame them).
Huge huge HUGE thanks to Kyle at Icon Plumbing & Heating in Didsbury for doing this, today of all days. It not only makes us happy, but I'm reasonably sure it's going to make the tenants happy, haha.

Chinook blows in as the Eve shifts to Christmas morning, after a great dinner with some family, child is asleep while I listen to sappy Christmas tunes and stuff some stockings. Say what you will about Christmas, I turn into a total sap. Love it, wish more family could have been here.

I love Christmas beast feast leftovers. Turkey, veggies, desserts, and tasty sugary drinks too!
Hmmmm yum.
Also love seeing a young nephew having a great time. Last year too young to even understand gifts, and this year so excited and happy to be hanging out with family and just laughing and having a so much fun while NOT being a PIA, needy, or rude.

I've now applied for 4 good jobs in Cape Breton and I have a sense of hope and optimism about the future. I just need to get an interview. I interview like my beagles steal food. Excellently.
