Good skit with a smart observation underneath.
Also great was Opera Man and Rectix (Aidy boosted it nicely).

Really enjoyed that episode.
Was hoping for Operaman and was not left disappointed.

The return of Opera Man was well worth the wait.

Didn't stand out as any better or worse than your typical pop star to me.

I don't think I knew Sandler was fired from SNL (along with Farley). Not sure if it was Lorne's idea or NBC's. I read that some people (ex. Garofalo) had complained about the unprofessional atmosphere at the time. You could tell that this stung Sandler, and is the reason why he took so long to return.

I wasn't the biggest fan of the episode. I loved that they brought back Operaman as that was always my favourite character. Highlight of the show was that he played Chris Farley. You could tell that playing that song on that stage hit Sandler hard, but he killed it. Damn tear to my eye on that one.

Was it me or did Sandler look kind of nervous during his opening monologue?

He’s always kind of like that. I feel like he’s someone who’s not very comfortable being himself in public.

Today, NBC announced that they're picking up a new series starring Kenan Thompson for the fall (creatively named The Kenan Show).
Oddly, that doesn't appear to mean that he'll be leaving SNL. Reports are that he'll remain a full cast member next season (he is already the longest-serving cast member, with this being his 16th season). At this point, no one seems to know how they'll pull this off.
Aidy Bryant made her show Shrill last year during the summer break (and will do a second season this summer), and Fred Armisen worked on Portlandia while still a cast member, but both of those shows had a small number of episodes. It's possible that Kenan's show will also have a reduced number of episodes (NBC already has The Good Place, which only does 10 episodes a season). If they end up doing a full 22 episode order, he'll be a very busy man.

This is not a new thing. Didn't he try doing something like this already with Maya Rudolph. Didn't work out. I love Keenan, he's naturally funny, but I think he's just not deep enough for a lead. Too one-dimensional.

Yea, that was a weak episode. I love Paul Rudd, so I expected it to be much funnier. But I thought the majority of the skits just fell flat.
Weekend Update was great though, as was Leslie Jones' passionate (and funny) rant on the abortion bans.

Is that all DJ Khaled does? Bring in rappers and singers and then repeat whatever they say during the song? I didn't even know who he was, thought he was a DJ. I dont get it...like, at all.
