Calgary Foothills won both their PDL games on the road this weekend as well. 1-0 over Sounders U23 and 2-1 over Vancouver TSS Rovers.
For anyone who don't want to pay Cavalry ticket prices, maybe give Foothills a go. Their first two home games Friday and Sunday are at Hellard too. Assuming it's the same price as last year, $15 tickets and $10 for kids.

And if I can piggyback on this, Foothills WFC enter season three, looking for another Western Conference title. Another Canadian team has entered the UWS fold with the addition of Queen City WFC in Regina.
https://www.foothillsfc.ca/wfc-schedule
The home opener is June 2 at the Foothills Fieldhouse on the club's new outdoor pitch. If the weather is inclement, they will play indoors.
Foothills is in a tough division with LA Galaxy Women and Santa Clarita, but Calgary coach Troye Flannery is one of the best bench bosses in Canada.

I've recently been informed of the diet of the women of Santa Clarita so I'd stay out of biting range.

A clearly estimated attendance figure of exactly 4000 popped up on the website. That seems a little high to me. Crowd did not look bigger than the home opener.

Second leg of round 1 of the Voyageurs Cup tomorrow at 7:30 pm. We've got a bunch of people selling tickets in the supporters section too.

My face is a bum!

I'm out of town and pretty sad about it. Hopefully they cruise through with no issues and there is always a chance next round. I would really love to get to watch Cavalry vs an MLS team. That would be too much fun.
Maybe I'll get less drunk next time.

I'm sitting in the supporters section on Saturday vs. HFXW. Less about the price, moreso about how much fun it is being in that particular section. So much more fun when you're making a bunch of noise and getting rowdy with others!

Does the team post any injury updates on players? Jose Escalante seemed to be such a bright star the first couple of games before his injury, but I can't seem to find any information about the seriousness of the injury and how long he might be out.
Is there somewhere this sort of info is posted, or are we just left to wait and see who hits the pitch?

I wish I knew. I'm curious as to when Mason Trafford is going to be available. So far our back three have pretty much played every minute of every game. Getting him back will let us start rotating a bit back there.

The impact of bringing the Whitecaps to Calgary would be huge given the team’s rich history that spans over 40 years and the passionate fanbase that comes along with it.
Let’s be clear — there is plenty of work to be done before a potential series takes place; Wednesday’s match — the second instalment of the two-game Voyageurs Cup matchup — is No. 1 on their priority list.
But given the way Cavalry FC has made a statement in its opening month, going 4-0 in CPL action and managing a busy schedule which will see them play seven games in a three-week period, there’s a very good chance it could happen.

Where would they play vs the Whitecaps? Also at Spruce Meadows?
Or would they dare try filling up McMahon>

I would be shocked if it wasn't Spruce Meadows.
Can't look past tonight though. Then Forge....

I imagine they would do Spruce Meadows. More money from Parking, Concessions, etc...As well as no rental fee of the McMahon Venue.
My biggest concern is that they would be ambitious/bold enough to try to jack up price for any match vs the MLS.

McMahon would be terrible for a number of reasons (football lines, distance from pitch, atmosphere, 1/3 full would be wildly optimistic). And in all honestly, 6000 in Spruce Meadows would be better than 10,000 in McMahon.
I do think that this talk of hosting the Whitecaps is a tad premature. They are obviously favourites to reach that round, but looking past Pacific and especially Forge is just inviting a massive choke job.
