Now that would be quite the plot twist.

Edmonton and it's not close.

Since 2005, Ottawa has made the playoffs eight times times, and been out of the first round four times.

Edmonton needs generational players to have career years or they finish bottom 5.

Edmonton may be the winner in the last decade, but over the last little bit, no organization has ever come close to Senators levels of ineptitude.

I mean just look at it:

Karlsson/Hoffman
Hoffman getting traded to the West and immediately getting flipped to Florida for a better deal
Karlsson situation hockey-wise
Melnyk/Borowiecki video
Melnyk saying in an interview at the freaking Heritage Classic that he might move the team
Team cratering after Duchene trade
Uber incident
Randy Lee situation

And that's not including a still real possibility that they could have traded next year's 1st overall pick.

Plus I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

They've had a bad 18 months, no question.

They were a goal away from the Stanley Cup Finals less than two years ago. Take the good with the bad.

Honestly, I think that makes it even worse. They've fallen that far in an impressively-small amount of time.

Sens had the greater peak. Oilers have the more-sustained no goodness.

An attack that small only takes one overzealous person, possibly a fan, to organize.

Silly Citizen.

Allegedly somebody hiding their identity on the interwebs calls out the Citizen with a tiny handful of comments on a social media site, for being unfair to the team. If I didn’t read CP I wouldn’t know anything about it.

Citizen was super greasy. They have a ‘staff reporter’ who didn’t put his name on a mud slinging piece. They got mocked a bit. Doesn’t seem like it was any kind of a misinformation based campaign.

Pretty sad that as dysfunctional as the Sens are, the Citizen are making such effort to show themselves as even more of a mess.
