It's been our go-to for a number of trips, even before the renovation. Great central location, we've always had luck at the casino, not too spendy to get a strip view room. Rooms were basic but clean and tastefully decorated. Only thing that pushes us to MGM Grand every so often is the pool at Monte Carlo was nothing special.

^ now that you mention the pool, as i recall, it seemed to get a little shady earlier because of neighboring buildings.
even though the pool is nothing special, you can still expect to pay $20 for beer.
as i recall if you go shopping at any of the attached stores, you used to get soem kind of deal because you were staying at the hotel.

Heading to Vegas for the Flames game on Nov.23 and US Thanksgiving anytime been at that time before ? Curious if there are any special Buffets or anything we should hit. The wife wants to go Black Friday shopping at the Outlets but I’m cringing at the idea.

The shops are gone. Unless they've added shops somewhere else since the beginning of May.
The pool was nothing special before, and now it is even less special.

I too would cringe at Black Friday shopping.
I was in Vegas in mid November of last year, one week before US Thanksgiving. Good weather. It wasn't cold, the breeze at night could feel chilly but it was nice. From what I understand most buffets do have a Thanksgiving style dinner on that weekend. As to the best place to go to, ymmv. I think they'll all be busier than normal during that time.

We inadvertently went on US thanksgiving weekend a few years back, biggest drawback was the gun ranges were all closed. Which seemed weird. We had a cab drive us to three ranges before the driver mentioned it was because of the holiday. Never even occurred to us.

seems a little ironic to me that they close the gun ranges on thranksgiving, but they can't control the guns.
gotta honor the pilgrims i guess

I was looking at that weekend last year. My friend told me to get there 3 days before Thanksgiving and stay a week to avoid heavy volumes at the airport. Maybe overkill but point taken. We went over a week earlier and left Vegas one week before Thanksgiving. We did arrive during the Rock'n'Roll Marathon though. One of only two days they close down the strip (the other being New Year's Eve). It was pretty cool to see.

Any tips on getting decently priced tickets for a Golden Knights game? Would like to avoid Stubhub, Flash Seats etc if possible

Well you can’t avoid flash seats since that’s how you get in the arena. What game are you looking for?

Dec 27 vs Colorado. Shouldn't be too high demand for tickets but I can't seem to find anything at/near face value online

Eataly is about to open on the strip in front of Park MGM. If it's anything like the NYC location, prepare for delicious, delicious carbs.

Darn thought maybe one of my games I have left I could pass on. However I did find a couple seats on the VGK ticket exchange for under face. Sec 12 face = 245 resale on them is 160 each

When it comes to stubhub and the like I like to wait until the last possible second to buy tickets as prices usually come down. Of course you need to use common sense, because if there’s some seats you really like those may not be the ones left.

Bump for a few suggestions, I am going to be in Vegas for Super Bowl weekend any recommendations for a place for watching the game? Craft beer would be a nice feature. Thanks for any suggestions!

The Westgate has an entire theater they dedicate to it and pretty decent drink and food specials. Good atmosphere too.

I'll be staying at Mirage during the 3rd round of the playoffs. I won't bother to watch much hockey unless the Flames are still playing. I'm not sure where I would go to watch if they were still playing.
NHL playoffs do get played on most TVs in Vegas these days. Last year during round 2 the playoffs were on TV all over the place, regardless if the Golden Knights were playing or not. I'm not sure where I should try to watch from yet. I don't want to think about it until I know who will be playing.
Last time I was there during playoff time was 2007. It was hard to find an NHL game on that wasn't in the sports books. Any other time it was early in the regular season and there wasn't much hockey except for November 2017 when Knight fever was in its infancy. It exploded from November to May, obviously.

Was just there this past weekend and caught the Saints-Eagles game at Beer Park. It's right on the strip, rooftop patio right in front of the Paris hotel. Tons of TV's, fun vibe, lots of sun, nice views of the strip and right accross from Bellagio fountain show.
Honestly wouldn't have picked anywhere else if I could do it again. Fantastic spot.

I went to vegas over the holidays. I would recommend Eataly, it opened the day we were there though so the lineup was 2+ hours (most didnt know you could make a reservation at the restaurant in there). Great food there.
The new NFL stadium is currently being built just south of Mandalay Bay, and I did a helicopter tour so got to see a good view of that.
The Park MGM hotel seemed really nice and was very central, especially if you're going to a Knights game. There are quite a few places near there to grab a beer/dinner before the game. In T-Mobile beers are $16 USD each
Some of the hotels were advertising a buffet pass where you pay something like $100 and you get unlimited access to a select number of buffets within 24 hours
