I swear those Avenue guys getting a good laugh at all the discussion and views their annual rankings get, when really, they're probably just using some kind of random generator to rank all the communities.

I find it funny that Arbour Lake is 5 & Scenic Acres is 23.
Huh?
Yeah Arbour Lake is on the same side of Crowchild as Crowfoot Village but that mousetrap labyrinth of a commercial development is barely navigable with a car & hostile to any other mode of transportation. Plus it’s not like Arbour Lake is any closer to the C-Train station.
I guess Arbour Lake has a few more rec facilities, but it’s also further from the river & river valley. To me it’s a wash at best.

And the rest of the year the rest of us get a good laugh that they run a magazine absolutely nobody cares about.
This is their time to shine. Their only time to shine. Would you deprive them of that tiny shred of hope?

It's been a long. long time since I lived in Calgary. Now days when I do go into Calgary, I can't believe how long I spend in traffic and especially waiting for traffic lights to change. To me, life is too short to spend that much time in traffic. I understand that it is a necessity for most people to live in the city and that most of them prefer city life to rural life. I personally like rural life - way easier going and much less stressful than city life.
If I were to live in Calgary, I would prefer to live in almost any area the NW or SW.

Avenue logic.
Woodbine 31... Woodlands 106... Both beside each other and share the same community association
Didn't Avenue use to put more effort into this in past years? Like a lazy bit of fluffy copy for each neighbourhood?
Or did they really just throw in the towel and use a random number generator this time around?... oh hey their "read our methodology." link goes to a 404 page. Fancy that.

I remember moving into one of the first Whitehorn houses. There was a park and a Red Rooster, a lot of open field and dragonflies.
Heh, the Red Rooster I remember was near Annie Gale Junior High. I loved growing up in Whitehorn and never thought it was that bad. Mind you I was gone by the mid 90s and have no idea if things actually got worse since then.
