Sure is boring when you wake up draft day with 0 picks in the first couple rounds.

I agree. Can't wait for the first post where someone points out the prospect we could've had if we hadn't traded for Hamonic.
It should be an exciting day at the very least. My outside bet is that we like someone in the 15-25 range that may slip and GMBT works his magic to get them.

This is a sad day.
At least when we picked up Hamilton, the excitement around the trade was buzzing around the draft.
This time we have Hamonic, who is a fine 3-4 d man, but any excitement from that trade is looooonnnnggg gone.

My spidey sense tells me that Treliving is going to make a trade to add a top 6 forward, and I'm almost certain that it happens today.

I'm still excited. Hamonic is one of my favorite players on the Flames. I love a defenseman who really knows how to play defense. We didn't see his offense much last year (because Gulutzan's system sucks), but I get the sense that he will be much more active offensively this year and everyone's going to appreciate his game much more under Peters.

My spidey sense tells me he doesn't get a deal done today and has to wait till after July 1st. For some reason with all the hype around the league that I feel no big name players are being moved today

Although it could happen today, aren't most trades on draft involving picks as the currency from at least one side? Not saying it won't happen today but I would be surprised as the Flames have no picks to give up.

I heard a rumor that he's going to not only refuse the Sabre's Jersey if he's picked, but he's going to ball it up and kick it like a football while extending a hearty middle finger salute to the Entire Buffalo management team. Then he's going to storm down and sit at the Calgary Flames table while yelling over and over again Flames for Life, trade me now.
Naw, that's not actually true, but we don't have a draft pick in the first round so we have to make our own fun.

Imagine if they came there and there was no Flames table set up. "Oh what are you doing here, we were not expecting you so early guys..."

My Spidey sense tells me that the Flames are going to terribly lose a trade today. Don't know why.

He is ridiculous. Had the chance to see him live at the world junior gold game, and every time he picked up the puck the crowd was silent in terror and admiration. I think he could outskate pre-Achillessliced Karlsson today.
He’ll be one of the best in the game in 2-5 years.
