At the quarter mark of the season the red snake is 1.5 points below the black line. It is currently on pace for 60 points. It will need a record of 25-16-1 (.607 record/68 point pace this season/100 point pace 82 game season) to finish above the black line at season's end. Two straight wins will put the red snake back above the black line.

With a win last night, the Geoff Ward snake made its final W from games 20-24. It was smaller than the W from games 3-13, but if he's going to keep using the team to spell his initials, then he must be fired. Fortunately Sutter's name begins with an S. He had his own snake like system at the end of the 2003-04 season where he broke the season into seven game series. Sutter, series, seven, snake, sixty-six is the new bears, beets, battlestar galactica. Make the snake rise in a Sutter/S like fashion towards 66.
The red snake is 4.286 points below the black line. It is currently on pace for 56 points (82 full season). It will need a record of 21-11-0 to reach 66 points. That pace would give them 73.5 points over a 56 game schedule or 107.5 points over an 82 game schedule. The quickest the snake could reach above the black line is by winning the next six games.
