That fight is over. You shouldn't be declared champ if you get your ass kicked.

Crazy. I have no idea why Yan did that, because that fight was totally under control for him. No way that should be a title winner though.

What is it with these Long Island guys. Serra, Weidman and now Stirling all win a title when there’s no way they should have. Fluke outcomes against clearly better fighters. Just weird.

And lol at whatever judge had him ahead on the cards. What in the world was that judge seeing?

I guess the story will come out for sure about what his corner told him, but how do you not see a guys knee down? If the knee is down and your corner says ‘hit him’ and you knee him you’re a dummy.
Felt for sterling as well. Clearly didn’t want to win that way. Brutal f****g knee though wow. That could end a career.

Agree that shouldn’t be a title win. Call a DQ and run it back when stirling is ready.

And just watched the nunes fight. Went as predicted. There is seriously no point anybody challenging her- she is inhuman.

What happened tonight between Sterling and Yan was unfortunate, but that's the rule. If the title didn't change hands by DQ, you would see more champions (cough cough Jones) use illegal strikes on purpose to keep their title if they were losing. Hopefully a rematch will happen as soon as Sterling is no longer concussed. Can't believe Yan did that after the referee warned him.

Only person who can challenge Nunes at this point is Shevchenko, but the latter seems content with cleaning out her division. And she might not want to fight Nunes since they've already done it twice.

Blachowicz fought well, had him winning rounds 2, 4, and 5. Those takedowns were clutch and I felt Rogan didn't give him enough credit for his striking as he barely said anything when he landed clean on Adesanya.

The prelims were great, lots of fun fights and finishes.

Cherant takes a fight on a week's notice, misses weight by a pound and gets fined 20%?

Wtf is up with that?!

You have to make weight, his weight would have been the first thing he was asked. I think it's disrespectful to accept a fight on a weeks notice and not make weight

It would be different if he missed by multiple pounds. He didn't which makes this horse ####.

He didn't even weigh in a second time, he declined it.

He's coming in overweight to gain an advantage, he shouldn't have accepted the fight if he couldn't make the weight. The difference is, his opponent makes the effort and went through the weight cut... to make your opponent drain his body making weight and then he doesn't even make the effort to weigh in a second time

At least try, show that you did everything you could

I don’t want to see either Stipe or Francis lose, two good guys.

If I had to predict a winner, probably Stipe. But I think this is a 50/50 fight.

Some great fights thus far. Main event should be insane. Miocic and Ngan are both giant human beings. Could go either way

Ngannou was pretty much perfect against Stipe. Wonder if Jon Jones reconsiders heavyweight.

Ngannou is hands down the baddest man on the planet.

Holy ####.

Congrats to Ngannou, he made all the improvements he needed to make in the first fight. Incredible story.

If it is Ngannou vs Jones next, how sweet would it be to see Ngannou decapitate Jones? I wouldn't be surprised to hear Jones say that he's going back down to Light Heavyweight next after seeing that, yikes.

Have to wonder if this is it for Stipe. If he wants to come back, let him recover for the rest of the year.

I know this is the MMA thread, but nobody watching the Jake Paul, Ben Askren fight coming up? Snoop Dogg is hilarious as a commentator. Paul is going to get hurt and that's what I'm tuning in for. It's on the last prelim.

And boxing doing what it does best in this prelim to kill it's own sport. Guy got phantom punched and is pretending to be mortally wounded. Crazy.

My son found a stream of it on youtube. What a joke of a fight. This Ben Askren guy looked like he came straight from the nearest McDonalds after eating a triple big mac meal.

Will this Jake Paul guy ever fight an actual boxer?
