It would be heavy handed if it were a commercial for charity or accessibility awareness or something. As an ad for beer, it takes heavy handed to a whole new level.
You're not changing the world, you're selling beer.
The one thing I hate about Christmas are the goddamn radio commercials that spoof Christmas songs. Note to marketers - nobody bothers trying to decipher your stupid lyrics. Lux Windows can EAD.
I like how now that Cdn Tire has got their new cool guy doing their commercials, Tim Hortons started playing their old ones with the same guy, as the uncool guy.
Advertisers still hold the notion that annoying commercials work because you remember the selling point. They don't understand that with a PVR, you can just fast forward and avoid them completely.
Guy - "Hey!! I see the Western Window guys are next door!"
Girl "Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigggggggggggggggggggggggg gghhhhhhhhhhhhhh well I gues it's too late for us..............with the cold comin on"
Who talks like that?

Already made a post about Moxies and The Keg, but to add on to that, I hate ALL restaurant commercials. If your restaurant can't survive on word of mouth advertising alone, your food ####### sucks.
The thing about the Keg ones that get to me, everyone is acting as though this dinner is a precursor to a massive 4way later that night.
Girl is alone at the Keg, sheepishly grins as she texts some guy. He shows up and another couple is now with the original girl. They all just seem a little too into each other. It was all just an ice breaker for the steamy 4way later that night.

You want to eat a high protein meal before 4ways, so a big steak etc. is what you need.

They're definitely right, the commercials stick in my mind. I remember them vividly as I do business with their biggest competitor.
The one with the hipster on the bus is my least favourite. When he does that weird pedophile giggle to those underage girls, then goes and sits down next to that toddler, how does he not get dragged off the bus at that point?

First time I saw this one I thought it was a commercial for The Keg
I agree that is an annoying commercial, but I noticed something last time I watched it. When the husband and wife take the 'selfie' the wife appears to give the 'duck lips'.

I'm going to add to that: 660 News' creative department sucks. They use the same voice guy for almost all of their commercials (the same guy in the Western Windows commercial), and his voice just grates on me. The other Western Windows commercial was just as bad:
"WesternWindows.com, WesternWindows.com, WesternWindows.com..."
"What are you doing, Frank?"
"Oh, I'm just trying to make sure I remember the Western Windows website!"
Seriously? And it's the same voice guy & girl. And they're both terrible. I find a lot of the commercials written and produced at 660 are just awful.

Is that the Mio Squirt with the Rocky song guy you are talking about?
I seriously wonder if these radio stations and companies advertising understand that while some ads may infact make you shop/listen the same can be said for driving you away. I will never shop at Spence Diamonds and I rarely listen to 960 anymore. I used to always listen to that station at drive time morning and afternoon.....but I just got so sick and tired of hearing those f'n bad commercials which they double up on at those times. I started turning the station while the commercial was on....now I just don't go back. I know I'm not the only one. I've discussed this with some of the guys at hockey.
