I honestly thought that was a parody at first. 3.5 minutes of Desantis droning on with his annoyingly shrill voice, basically the same clips repeated 4-5 times to pad it out, and half the video is of Elon Musk for some reason.
I didn't think Biden had a hope in hell of getting re-elected, but maybe I'm wrong. Especially with bangers like this:
As for the Target thing... haven't Americans been insisting that they are all heavily armed at all times, and that is the way to peace? I wouldn't want to confront a heavily armed peaceful bigot on behalf of somebody else, even if I'm getting paid $7.25 to do it.

I don't know if I should laugh or cry about that whole "satanic" thing. What year is it?!?
Meanwhile Satanists - Not the Satanic Temple folks, Anton LaVey's Church of Satan - used Ayn Rand's Objectivism as foundational. And yet you're not hearing a bunch of conservatives squealling about removing The Fountainhead from schools.
It's hard to see a path forward to the debt ceiling raise. The freedom caucus seems more than willing to hold their party and the whole country hostage and don't care if they let it burn to the ground. They got too much power with their games in the leadership vote, and now is their chance to use it. This is going to be a messy summer.

I don’t see why the rest of the republicans are going along with this. Let the freedom caucus twist in the wind on their own.
This is an interesting issue. The current Mexican president is basically a cartel puppet, and with how brutal the cartels are you might see a lot of support from the general population for the US to do something about them. If that happens, does the Mexican president go so far as to order his military to engage US troops? And if so does the Mexican military follow those orders?
They are holding everyone hostage. They need their votes to pass it, or need some Democrat votes, and that seems unlikely for a lot of reasons.
Based on the latest noise out of social media (yeah, great source I know), Democrats need only 5 reasonable house republicans to vote with them to prevent default. If the freedom caucus is the only problem, there shouldn’t be much trouble finding the 5… and if not then the problem is much bigger than just the freedom caucus.
Those 5 republicans would basically be giving up their jobs since they'll get primaried for working with the "enemy".
On the other hand if there's a deal between Biden and Republicans why wouldn't some Dems vote for the deal so they can ignore the far right Republicans? It's a deal made by a Dem so there's more cover there.

The logistics of that seem tough. I am skeptical whether a deal that gets some Republican support can be palatable to democrats. It would be nice if centrist types from both parties could at least agree to keep the government running.
The Democrats may have to concede to support keeping McCarthy as speaker to do it and that seems unlikely. If McCarthy brings forward a bill that doesn't have freedom caucus support counting on Democrat votes, the freedom caucus would act quickly to remove him as speaker, I would think.
A bi-partison centrist caucus that could at least agree on some basic legislation to keep the country running is badly needed. The fringes are more than happy to watch the country burn and are holding the country hostage.

Yeah I was going to say and forgot that if McCarthy and Biden come to a deal then Dems could vote for it with some political cover.. but as you say I have no idea why McCarthy would do it since you're right his speakership will just get challenged and they'd be back to voting over and over for speaker.
I guess it depends on what the deal entails.
