That parent must have been able to reasonably foresee that the protest could escalate and turn violent, be it physical confrontations or tear gas, pepper spray etc. and they should be protecting their kid, not putting it in the environment where these things may happen
They were impeding his forward progress... if he put it in reverse do you honestly think they were all just going to stand there and wave goodbye while he tried to reverse out? I made sure to watch again as per your suggestion and both vehicles were being attacked from behind as well... look at the mob of people coming up from behind, he had no safe escape in any direction.

Personally, I honestly couldn't give less of a #### what celebrities and rich people with platforms think. At all. Don Lemon is frequently obnoxious and his own biggest booster. Even in that rant he manages to humblebrag multiple times about how all these people are texting him and tweeting him about how much they love what he's doing.
I just can't help but wish they didn't just have Killer Mike on TV the whole time, after what he said yesterday. I'm pretty sure we have nothing in common, politically, but that guy is a good representative of the sort of people who do share his views.

Ehh, yes and no. You have to remove Don Lemon from the equation and consider how much black culture idolizes these people. Your opinion of celebrities doesn't matter, what adolescent black Americans think of them does matter and it would affect change.
I can’t think of anything that would undermine the cause of the protesters faster than a bunch of narcissistic entertainers glomming onto it. Is there anyone who’s on the fence about this stuff, but who would come down on the side of the protesters if Scarlett Johansen and Will Smith spoke up?
One good thing that has come out of the covid lockdown is the recognition that celebrities carry no moral authority, and most people wish they would keep their mouths shut rather than pretend they have anything in common with average people.

Does any culture change come from this? Even if it’s prolonged, what systemic, cultural changes come from this?
This is the same nation that stood silent when a bunch of affluent white kids in Sandy Hook were killed and that couldn’t reform systemic or cultural gun change.
